Summary

The SAP Finance Functional Lead serves as the primary representative for Finance within the company’s SAP S/4HANA program. The role supports the Global Process Owner (Finance) and ensures that Finance processes, controls, reporting needs, and statutory requirements are fully reflected in the solution design. This role requires strong Finance domain expertise, hands-on S/4HANA experience, and the ability to translate real-world Finance operations into system requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

Finance Process & Design Leadership

  • Support the Finance GPO in global decision-making, governance, and process harmonization.
  • Validate Finance and Controlling process designs across GL, AP/AR, Assets, Cost Accounting, Profitability, and Period Close.
  • Ensure solution alignment with financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and operational requirements.

Data & Master Data Readiness

  • Oversee Finance master data readiness (Chart of Accounts, cost/profit centres, financial masters, asset registers).
  • Support data cleansing, mapping, migration validation, and reconciliation activities across business units.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Own Finance testing scope across SIT, UAT, regression and cutover rehearsals.
  • Ensure test scenarios reflect real operational processes (period close, costing flows, FX, tax, asset management, etc.).
  • Participate in defect triage and provide Finance input for solution corrections. Cutover, Go-Live & Hypercare
  • Drive Finance readiness for cutover including open items, balances, asset migration, and period close alignment.
  • Validate opening balances, reconciliations, and control checkpoints.  Provide functional support through go-live and hypercare to ensure stable Finance operations.

Required Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • Strong Finance background (Accounting, Financial Control, FP&A, or Costing).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance.  Experience with ERP transformation or Finance systems change programmes.
  • Strong understanding of Finance processes including GL, AP/AR, fixed assets, controlling, costing, and period close.
  • Ability to constructively challenge design decisions using practical Finance knowledge.  Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

  • Professional Finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
  • Exposure to multiple S/4HANA modules (FI, CO, AA, PS).
  • Experience in manufacturing or multi-entity corporate environments.
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology.

Travel Requirements

As required for program milestones and deliverables. Approx. 40%

Compensation

The salary for this role will range from 87,020.00 - 130,100.00 USD annual based on full-time employment. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to location, relevant skills, training, experience, education, etc.

Certain roles may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives. Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
