Job Description

Envision Employment Solutions is currently looking for a SAP Factory Manager - ABAP & UI5 for one of our partners, a global leader in the food and services industry.

The SAP Factory Manager - ABAP & UI5 will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of our ABAP and UI5 software development factory. This includes overseeing code delivery, resource management, quality assurance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in SAP development, coupled with excellent leadership and communication skills. They will be pivotal in guiding the team towards adopting modern SAP development practices, including clean core principles and SAP BTP adoption.

Responsibilities:

Delivery & Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of epics and features requiring new or updated code in ABAP & UI5.
  • Ensure that epics, features and user stories are delivered on time and per expectation, within budget, and to the highest-quality standards.
  • Manage risks and issues and implement effective mitigation and resolution strategies.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality software deliverables.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize development processes and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of ABAP and UI5 developers.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Manage team capacity and resource allocation to ensure efficient epic & feature delivery.

Technical Leadership & Innovation:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to the development team.
  • Drive the adoption of clean core principles and SAP BTP within the development factory.
  • Stay abreast of the latest SAP technologies and trends and recommend improvements.
  • Promote the use of best practices for ABAP and UI5 development.
  • Manage on-premises development and guide the transition to cloud based code development in SAP BTP.

Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including platform and product managers, architects, software configuration leaders / experts, engineers, business analysts, and clients.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in managing SAP ABAP and UI5 development teams. Proven expert knowledge of ABAP and UI5 development.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex and working software in enterprise grade SAP ERP environments. Strong experience with SAP development.
  • Experience with SAP BTP and clean core architecture is highly desirable.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
  • Understanding of SAP architecture and development best practices.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of SAP BTP services and capabilities.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP MDG is a plus.

  • SAP and MS Azure Certifications are a plus.
  • FMCG background or experience working with FMCG
