YOUR OPPORTUNITY
As ABAP Developer, Tech Operations, you will deliver enhancements and provide cross-module support across the Bacardi Global SAP landscape, ensuring high performance, stability, and continuous improvement of key business processes and custom solutions. The role is Manila-based.
You will be responsible for meeting key performance targets within the SAP development and support function, proactively identifying opportunities to improve the stability, quality, and efficiency of ABAP operations.
You will drive technical activities related to custom code maintenance and support, ensuring effective collaboration with partners and consistent delivery of high quality development services.
In addition, you will cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with functional teams, business stakeholders, and the broader Tech leadership to ensure alignment and smooth execution of SAP solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Handle service requests and minor enhancements by delivering small functional and technical changes, ensuring solutions are aligned with business requirements and development standards.
• Develop and maintain custom ABAP objects such as reports, user exits, BAdIs, enhancements, forms, IDocs and APIs.
• Manage custom code corrections for defects raised by business or functional teams.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions, providing technical feasibility assessments and solution recommendations.
• Contribute to refinement initiatives for code quality, efficiency, and operational stability.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize existing custom code.
• Conduct impact analysis for changes and enhancements across SAP modules.
• Participate in root-cause analysis for recurring incidents and propose long-term fixes.
• Implement OSS Notes and SAP-recommended fixes when needed.
• Assist in SAP upgrades, enhancement packs, and system refresh activities, ensuring code readiness.
• Follow change management processes to promote transport safely across systems.
• Provide technical documentation for fixes, changes, and enhancements.
• Perform code reviews to ensure alignment with SAP best practices and internal standards.
• Ensure compliance with security, audit and development policies across all ABAP objects.
SKILLS
Technical Skills
• At least 5 years and strong expertise in ABAP programming (Reports, FMs, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, Enhancements, Classes).
• Experience with Object Oriented ABAP (ABAP OO) and modern ABAP syntax (7.5x), applying contemporary language features and design patterns.
• Hands on experience with IDocs, RFCs, BDC, BAPI, CDS, OData and other integration techniques.
• Knowledge of SAP Scripts, Smart Forms, and Adobe Forms development.
• Skilled in performance tuning, advanced debugging, and code optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of clean coding principles and SAP development best practices.
• Ability to build scalable, modular, and maintainable solutions.
• Good understanding of SAP transport management processes, including CTS+.
• Foundational knowledge of key SAP functional modules (FI/CO, SD, LO/LE, IM, PP, etc.).
• Nice to have / Growth areas: S/4HANA, RAP, CAP, Fiori, and SAPUI5.
Support / Operations Skills
• Strong ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents.
• Experience handling service requests, minor enhancements, and small functional changes.
• Ability to monitor and support batch jobs, IDocs, RFCs, and services along with their interfaces.
• Familiarity with change management processes and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).
