Main Purpose and Function
The primary purpose of this position is to collaborate with business stakeholders to define, design, implement, and support enterprise planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management solutions using SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Planning. This position serves as the functional lead for planning transformation initiatives, ensuring business requirements are translated into scalable and sustainable planning solutions that improve decision-making, forecasting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
The SAP SAC Planning Business Analyst leads planning and performance management projects through all phases of the solution lifecycle, including business process analysis, requirements gathering, solution design, model development, testing, deployment, training, and ongoing support. The role acts as a key liaison between Financial Planning and SAP teams to ensure planning solutions align with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
This position provides ongoing support for financial planning, operational planning, capital planning, workforce planning, and management reporting processes. The incumbent has access to highly confidential financial and operational information and provides recommendations that may impact budgeting decisions, resource allocation, workforce planning, operational performance, and strategic initiatives.

Where operationally appropriate and subject to change, the City of Vancouver has a Flexible Work Program. This program allows staff to work a hybrid work week from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a City worksite. At this time this position is eligible to be part of the Flexible Work Program.
