SAP Basis Manager

The Role:SAP Basis Manager (Global Operations & S/4HANA Strategy)

As the SAP Basis Manager at Entegris, you will be responsible for the health, performance, and stability of our complete global SAP landscape hosted in acloudenvironment. You will lead a diverse, global team of Basis consultants and play a pivotal role in architecting our transition from ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4HANA. This role requires a blend of hands-on technical expertise in SAP administration and strategic leadership to navigate the final phases of our digital transformation.

What You’ll Do:

• Global Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a 24/7 global SAP Basisteam, overseeing workloads, scheduling, and high-quality service delivery across multiple time zones.

• Landscape Management: Direct all administrative activities for our ECC 6.0 environment, including system copies, kernel upgrades, transport management (TMS), and background job optimization.

• Hosted Cloud Operations: Technical point of contact for our SAP cloud hosting provider, ensuring adherence to SLAs, managing cloud-native storage (e.g.,AWS/GCP), and optimizing virtual machine sizing for SAP workloads.

• S/4HANA Migration Roadmap: Lead the technical readiness for our S/4HANA transition. Responsibilities include running SAP Readiness Checks, analyzing simplification items, and managing the HANA database sizing.

• Performance & Reliability: Utilize SAP Solution Manager or SAP Cloud ALM for proactive monitoring, performance tuning (ST03N, DBACOCKPIT), and disaster recovery planning.

• Technical Knowledge:Requires a deep technical knowledge for system troubleshooting, problem solving, capacity planning, and performance optimization to manage the SAP Landscapes.

• Security & Compliance: Experience with maintaining SOX governance and ensuring global systems remain compliant with SAP Security and Vulnerability Notes and coordinate regular audits, user administration, and system hardening.

What We Seek:

• Education:Bachelor’s Degreein Computer Scienceor related field

• Experience: 10+ years in SAP Basis administration, with at least5years in leadership or managerial capacity.

• Management Skills:“Excellent communication skills," "strong interpersonal abilities," or "proven ability to collaborate," highlighting traits like positive influence, adaptability, and leadership.

• Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with SAP ECC 6.0 (EHP 7/8) and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong technical skills in SAP installations, troubleshooting, upgrades, system copies, client copies, SAP performance tuning, applying patches.

• S/4HANA Knowledge: Proven understanding of S/4HANA conversion tools such as Software Update Manager (SUM) with DMO and Maintenance Planner

• Database Expertise: Hands-on experience with SAP HANA (administration, backup/recovery, and replication) and legacydatabases (ASE/Oracle/SQL Server).

• Certifications: SAP Certified Technology Associate (SAP HANA or S/4HANA) or cloud certifications (AWS SAP on Cloud, GCPfor SAP) are highly preferred.

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:

• Automation: Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform orTricentisfor cloud-based SAP Refreshes, Deployments and Software Testing.

• Migration Methodology: Understanding of Brownfield vs. Greenfield transition paths and their impact on system architecture.

• Business Transformation: Ability to translate technical S/4HANA requirements into business value for executive stakeholders.
