Define the Future of Our Hybrid Architecture.

Are you a SAP Basis Architect who can design a scalable landscape and cloud strategy, manage vendor governance, and still dive into the system to troubleshoot, all while driving our transition to a SIAM framework and SAP RISE operating model and Clean Core principles?

We are looking for an SAP Basis Architect in Copenhagen to lead our architectural structure, technical steering, and strategic design for our ERP landscape. As a technical anchor with deep, grounded expertise, you will steer our landscape, define our future operating model, co-own the technical roadmap with our SDM, and establish disciplined governance across our external partners, and drive our modernization strategy using SAP BTP and Fiori.

What the job is …

As our SAP Basis Architect, you are the technical anchor for Satair's SAP platform. Success in this role means balancing daily operational control with our transition to SAP RISE and our journey towards a Clean Core. You will take a proactive approach to monitoring, performance optimization, and lifecycle management, ensuring our systems are always up to date and preventing issues before they impact the business. On a day-to-day basis, you will bring order to our global, 24/7 landscape by standardizing KPIs, service windows, and maintenance plans to safeguard overall platform runtime and system health.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Strategic RISE & SIAM Operating Model: You will be our Basis Architect moving us away from a traditional hosting setup, to a model where we strictly steer our external partners. You will coordinate all our cloud environments, keeping our Dev, Test, and Prod systems synced and healthy via SAP for Me, ensuring we fully maximize SAP’s standard support model.

  • Clean Core Optimization & Modernization (BTP & Fiori): You will drive the elimination of obsolete and deprecated ECC legacy transactions, steering the technical landscape toward modern SAP Fiori applications and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) extension capabilities (including modern RFQ apps, predictive analytics, and AI scenarios). You will define the technical strategy to phase out custom debt and legacy code to keep our core stable and agile.

  • Roadmap Alignment & Budget Scoping: You will own the technical roadmap, partnering with our Service Delivery Manager to ensure key milestones, architecture reviews with cross-team dependencies are clearly reflected in Jira. You will participate in writing Architectural Requirement Dossiers (ARDs), deliver clear technical requirements and accurate estimates for key initiatives such as our upcoming S/4HANA upgrade, while constantly recommending health, modernization, and performance optimizations.

  • Landscape Architecture & Operational Visibility: In this role, you will need to map out our end-to-end SAP landscape architecture to give us a clear blueprint for our journey to SAP RISE. From there, you will design a functional KPI tree that connects directly to this map, giving us true visibility into how technical system health impacts our daily business operations.

  • Problem Solving & Escalation Support: You will provide expert SAP Basis insights during critical outages or complex Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) when needed. Your focus will be on helping the team understand the technical root issues and advising on the right fixes to permanently mitigate them and protect our system uptime.

  • Creating Clear Visibility: You keep our technical roadmap transparent and map our landscape to simple KPI metrics, so colleagues and partners always know what’s happening and management can see how system health impacts operations.

  • Ensuring a Predictable RISE Transition: Our move to SAP RISE happens without surprise cost overruns because you proactively keep our database growth, archiving strategy, and HANA memory footprint under control.

  • Driving the Clean Core Evolution: You actively reduce system technical debt by guiding functional and technical teams away from obsolete T-codes and custom code, migrating them seamlessly to standard SAP Fiori and BTP innovations.

  • Raising Technical Standards: You act as a trusted advisor and mentor for the team, helping colleagues understand the architectural impact of system changes while keeping our documentation and ARDs accurate.

  • Keeping Partners Accountable: Our external providers deliver exactly what we need because you provide them with clear technical requirements and firmly steer their deliverables.

  • Connecting Tech to Business: You easily translate complex infrastructure or security issues into plain language that management, security, and digital teams can actually understand.

  • Preventing Recurring Issues: When major system issues pop up, you bring a calm approach, providing the right technical insights to help find the actual root cause so we implement permanent fixes instead of temporary patches.

Who you are

This role is defined by your architectural discipline, professional mindset, and ability to technically steer an advanced ecosystem. We are looking for a teammate who is:

  • An Experienced SAP Architect: You have 8–10 years of SAP Basis and architecture experience, covering databases, platform stacks, and hybrid cloud setups. You have a degree in IT (or similar) and speak fluent English. You have strong technical expertise in managing SAP S/4HANA upgrades on RISE, system refreshes, SAP patch updates and other proactive patching strategies to maintain compliance and security.

  • Self-Driven: You enjoy taking ownership of your space. We are looking for someone who feels comfortable handling the technical details independently, giving management the peace of mind that the platform is in safe hands.

  • Ready to Define the New Standard: You know what a modern, best-practice SAP hybrid setup looks like. You can come in, show what the new standard is, and help us build it.

  • Organized and Reliable: You take pride in delivering on your commitments and keeping things structured. You naturally lean toward good documentation because you know it's the best way to keep a complex system running smoothly.

  • A Clear Communicator: You are comfortable translating complex infrastructure or technical issues into plain language, making it easy for non-technical teams to understand and stay aligned.

  • An Adaptable Stakeholder Manager: You possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy building relationships across departments. You can effectively guide functional owners, developers, and leadership through architecture modernizations without friction.
