Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inquisitive SAP Basis Administrator who will be providing comprehensive SAP Basis administration and support as part of PACCARs SAP Center of Expertise. This position provides guidance and leadership in the areas of system maintenance, technologies, and incident resolution.

Key Responsibilities –

  • Provide SAP Basis administration and production support across SAP S/4HANA, ECC, NetWeaver, BW, Portal, PI, Solution Manager, and related platforms.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of SAP environments through proactive monitoring, system tuning, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Deliver 24x7 operational support and participate in on-call rotations for critical SAP systems and incidents.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute SAP system installations, upgrades, migrations, refreshes, patching activities, and technology stack enhancements.
  • Administer SAP HANA databases, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, system maintenance, and optimization.
  • Evaluate new SAP releases, support packages, enhancement packages, and emerging technologies; develop adoption plans and provide recommendations to IT leadership.
  • Manage SAP transport landscape, including CTS+, SLD administration, transport management, and system landscape governance.
  • Support SAP BTP, cloud technologies, and integration between cloud and on-premises SAP applications.
  • Conduct system analysis, requirements gathering, and provide technical consulting to business and IT stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, technical documentation, operational procedures, and implementation plans for complex enterprise-wide projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver system enhancements, integrations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Configure and maintain SAP monitoring tools, diagnostics, EarlyWatch reporting, and key performance indicators to ensure system stability and reliability.
  • Establish, document, and enforce SAP operational standards, policies, security controls, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP infrastructure, database, and application issues while ensuring minimal business disruption.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, training, and guidance to junior team members and support staff.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system quality, scalability, security, availability, and operational efficiency

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 5+ years SAP Basis Administration, to include Oracle, and AIX/Linux OS.
  • 3+ years of SAP HANA DB experience.
  • Should have experience in Certificate renewals.
  • Should have experience in SSO configurations
  • Experience implementing or upgrading SAP landscapes.
  • Experience with SAP NetWeaver, PI/PO configuration and administration.
  • Experience in SAP ABAP & Java stack monitoring i.e. both Application and Database.
  • Experience using SAP Solution Manager for end-to-end system monitoring and alerting.
  • Experience in SAP kernel updates, SAP plug-in, landscape management, transport’s, printer setups and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in creating SAP client copies and deletions.
  • SAP BTP Cloud experience is a plus.
  • SAP LVM/LAMA experience is a plus.
  • Ability to configure Transport Domain Controller and administer the Transport Management System.
  • Having experience of SAP Products like SAC, SAP IAS/IPS, SAP CPI, SAP Cloud ALM monitoring is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of SAP Rise migration, OS DB Migrations is an added advantage.
  • Assist in ticket resolution with proper documentation, customer service and adequate response times.
