What's this role about?

8 to 12 years of SAP experience in implementation, support and rollout projects Deep understanding of Business Process Knowledge Understanding of project implementation methodologies ITIL processes Design Implement and Support the SAP solution Work on support engagement and manage priority based tickets knowledge of SLAs and playing vital role in identifying RCA Contribute to competency and Coordinate with technical team on custom objects Interacting with customers understanding the requirements proposing solutions methodology etc.,

Here's how you'll contribute:

ABAP Consultant at Zensar take end-to-end ownership of projects and provide valuable expertise Well acquainted with ASAP and involved in various stages of project implementation like project preparation, business blue print, realization/configuration, testing, go-live and production support.

You’ll do this by:

• Managing and owning all aspects of technical development and delivery including feasibility check.

• Should be able to understand functional specification and propose best possible solution and author technical specs.

• Integration experience with other SAP Non-SAP systems.

• Strong knowledge on HANA

• Should be an individual Contributor

• SAP Certification will be preferable

• Estimating efforts, identifying risks, and providing technical support whenever needed

• Develop, code, document and execute unit tests, systems, integration and acceptance tests and testing tools for functions of high complexity

• Demonstrating the ability to multitask and re-prioritizing responsibilities based on dynamic requirements
• Leading and mentoring small-sized teams
• A highly motivated natural team player with stupendous communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. Skilled in delivering in a goal oriented, target driven work environment.
• Diagnose problem areas
• Design innovative solutions and facilitate deployment resulting in client delight
• An objective of providing high quality value adding solutions to customers
• Coordinating with cross functional teams.
• Specifically,

AMS Support & Incident Management

• Provide L2/L3 production support for SAP ABAP-related issues
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve tickets (incidents, service requests, defects) within SLA timelines
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures

✅ Enhancements & Development

• Develop and modify Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms (RICEF objects)
• Handle minor enhancements and change requests in AMS environment
• Work on performance optimization of existing programs

✅ Technical Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience in:
  • ABAP reports (ALV, interactive)
  • Data Dictionary (DDIC)
  • SmartForms / SAP Scripts / Adobe Forms
  • BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, Enhancements
  • IDocs and Interfaces (ALE/EDI)
• Exposure to HANA (CDS views, AMDP) is preferred
• Basic knowledge of OData / Fiori is a plus

✅ Collaboration & Coordination

• Work closely with functional consultants (FICO, MM, SD, PP) to understand issues
• Participate in daily status calls and client interactions
• Coordinate with offshore/onshore teams

✅ Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain proper technical documentation for fixes and enhancements
• Ensure adherence to coding standards and transport management processes

Skills required to contribute:

• Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in SAP ABAP and well-versed in S4 HANA/ ECC with good analytical skills .

• Experience in Implementation and Support Projects.

  In-depth knowledge in the below areas:

• Strong knowledge of procedural and object-oriented programming techniques.
• Extensive experience in debugging, performance tuning, Runtime Analysis and System monitoring
• Experience and proficiency in SAP development tools and technologies such as S/4 HANA Development, OData Services,
• Experience in ABAP objects, OO Programing, Conversions, Enhancements, BADI and Performance Tuning Catalogues and Code groups
• Strong experience in Gateway services and
• Data concepts.

• Good experience in FPM reports.

• Should be good in ABAP Programming with experience in RICEFW development

• Basic reporting and OOPS is must.

• Experience with SAP functionalities such as BADI, User-Exits, Customer exits, Implicit and Explicit Enhancement and interfacing solutions such as BAPI, RFCs and ALE/EDI Idocs, BTEs, CDS Views ,VOFM routines

• Developing SMART Forms and SAP scripts
• Experience in developing Dialog programming, Function Module
• Strong background in SAP Technical Development (ABAP) / ABAP for HANA.
