Purpose of Job

The role requires expertise in SAP ABAP on HANA, Core Data Services (CDS), OData Services, SAP Fiori/UI5, and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). Works closely with delivery teams to analyze business requirements and implement scalable and efficient solutions. Responsibilities include developing and extending SAP standard applications, optimizing performance for HANA-based applications, designing custom Fiori applications, implementing SAP BTP extensions, and ensuring seamless integration with third-party systems using SAP PI/PO, CPI, COUPA, ONESource, BW or RESTful APIs.

This position will also coordinate other resources providing services when required

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and enhance SAP S/4HANA applications using ABAP, ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, OData services, and Fiori/UI5.
  • Design and implement SAP Enhancements, User Exits, BADI, BAPI, and IDocs for various business processes.
  • Work with functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop SAP interfaces using technologies such as RFC, SOAP, REST, and SAP PI/PO.
  • Optimize SAP programs for performance and efficiency.
  • Leverage SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) to extend S/4HANA capabilities, including integration with cloud services.
  • Implement and maintain SAP Fiori applications and custom UI5 developments.
  • Support SAP upgrades, including SAP S/4HANA transition projects.
  • Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Responsible custodian of technical specification documentations.
  • Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies, trends, and best practices.

Formal Education

Relevant Bachelor University degree

Working Experience

  • 6+ Years, including 2 full project lifecycles
  • Certification would be beneficial especially for Saas.

Required Personal and Professional Skills

  • Knowledge of security aspect of product and platforms owned by Global delivery team (e.g. GRC/IAG, S/4, MDG, ECC, BW, Datasphere, BTP, OMP, Coupa, GE_APM).
  • Expertise in ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, and OData services.
  • Strong experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 development and enhancements.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP BTP, SCP (SAP Cloud Platform), and CAP (Cloud Application Programming model) is a plus.
  • Good understanding of SAP functional modules (e.g., MM, SD, FI, PP, WM, etc.).
  • Deep knowledge of SAP enhancement techniques, including Implicit/Explicit Enhancements, Enhancement Spots, and Core Data Services (CDS) Extensibility.
  • Strong understanding of SAP integration technologies (IDocs, Web Services, SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI, and API Management).
  • Proficiency in performance tuning and code optimization strategies, including parallel processing, buffering techniques, and efficient database access.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices for SAP development.
  • Experience with third-party integrations and SAP BTP extensions.
  • Familiarity with SAP Rise model and S/4 Greenfield implementation is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience in leading activities and resources
  • Proficient in English (other languages e.g. German, Italian, Chinese are a plus)
  • Professional experience in Chemical -Oil industry is a plus
