Job Description

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Basic Purpose:

The Sanitor assists with for cleaning & sanitizing of all surfaces & equipment in the food production and storage areas, and building structure.

Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest safety, food safety and quality, cost and GMP standards in a high speed manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning & sanitizing of all surfaces & equipment in the food production and storage areas
  • Disassembling equipment
  • Read chemical labels to ensure safe applications
  • Handle, mix and store cleaning chemicals
  • Add specified amounts of chemicals to equipment at required times to maintain solution levels and concentrations
  • Dry and Wet cleaning of Food contact surfaces, equipment and building structure
  • Clean and sanitize equipment using chemicals and foamier, pressure wash and/or sanitation sprayer
  • Manually scrub certain areas of machines using brushes, scrapers or scrub pads
  • Clean floors using powered floor scrubber
  • Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during long periods of time
  • Lift cleaning materials and production equipment manually
  • Follow all Health and Safety guidelines established for this position
  • Supports all efforts to improve, maintain and validate safety and sanitation practices and procedures
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Sanitation Supervisor

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or (GED) required
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English or Spanish.
  • Previous experience working in a Food production environment preferred but not essential
  • Food safety and sanitation knowledge is a plus
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus
  • Successful candidates will be able to work well in a team setting
  • Weekend work is required: You will work approximately (3) (12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
  • Willingness and ability to work any shift and to change shifts or work extended shifts to provide coverage for vacations and absences or changes in schedules due to business demands
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed

Hazards controls:

  • Training on housekeeping issues and awareness of location.
  • Training on stock arrangement techniques.
  • Training in proper methods of lifting and load handling.
  • Training in the proper use of powered equipment and certification of the operator’s capabilities.
  • Training- properly located face shield and emergency eye wash station.
  • Training all quality and safety programs.

  • New starting wage is $18.00 / hour (commensurate with experience and location). *Note that rate could change based on a shift schedule.
