Job Description

As a Sanitation Worker, you will provide general operational and downtime sanitation in our processing plants.

thus, ensuring USDA regulatory compliance and the production of a safe and wholesome product. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently, and effectively. This position supports the daily achievement of production goals through ensuring the proper functionality of our machines.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for daily and downtime sanitation. Timely and effective dismantling, cleaning, sanitizing, and setting up of equipment and other tasks.
  • Monitor cleaning chemical concentrations to ensure that they comply with specifications.
  • Use approved chemicals to sanitize areas correctly and safely.
  • Transport line waste to dump disposal area.
  • Use high pressure and high-volume water hoses to clean surfaces.
  • Adherence to all safety and sanitation rules and regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Maintain a safe workplace including wearing the necessary protective equipment (PPE)
  • Comply with SSOPs as trained.
  • Maintains open communication and working relationships with other team members.
  • Communicate issues and important information to the appropriate person immediately.
  • Adhere to company policies and core values.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual a plus
  • 1-2 years of experience in plant quality/food safety/sanitation preferred.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and Sanitation preferred.
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by the employer.
  • Must observe all safety and security procedures; Report potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.
  • Willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the employer's safety policies and rules; Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others.
  • Strong work ethic, honesty, team oriented and moral character
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment a must.
  • Experience with safety/equipment such as LOTO, harnesses, lanyards, hoists, and PPE a plus
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on the production demand.
  • Ability to intermittently lift up to 50 lbs.
