This job posting is for 3rd shift, working a general schedule of 5-6 days week from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. This is a salaried position and starting salary will be based on experience. This position is also eligible for annual incentive pay of 5% (subject to approval each year).

Job Responsibilities:
Directs and supervises the day-to-day sanitation/cleaning of the plant production equipment and facility to meet food safety requirements as required by federal, state, and local regulations and by DFA to meet customer quality and safety standards through alignment of 3rd-party vendor
Ensures team members and contractors follow Company policies and procedures
Ensures sanitation quality and department efficiencies are maintained at or above standards
Supports the commitment and continual improvement to Food Safety and Quality programs
Performs supervisory responsibilities, including but not limited to: training, appraising performance, rewards and disciplines, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and verification of contractor duties
Develops and documents cleaning procedures (i.e., SSOPs, cleaning logs, etc.)
Provides oversight of 3rd-party sanitation workers for the safe operation and disassembly of equipment
Ensures compliance with all safety rules and standards including the proper use of personal protective equipment
Ensures food safety and quality control specifications are met
Ensures compliance with all company GMPs
Develops, maintains, and complies with Master Sanitation Schedule
Systematically develops clear and well-defined cleaning procedures for all equipment and facility areas
Works closely with vendor on chemical and process changes to improve sanitation results and reduce costs
Protects product during sanitation
Coordinates all sanitation and some production items for the plant
Coordinates with R&D and Quality Assurance on all sanitation issues concerning production, new products, special runs, etc.
Coordinates with Maintenance, as needed, to ensure that quality, productivity, and Food Safety issues are met
Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects
All team members are responsible for safety, including but not limited to, personal safety and food safety
Complies with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reports known or suspected violations
Attends monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT)
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Job Requirements:
2+ years of manufacturing experience in the food industry, food industry sanitation experience preferred
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Skilled in analytical, critical, inductive, and deductive logic and reasoning
HACCP certification preferred
Able to read and interpret documents such as MSDS Safety rules and procedure manuals
Able to write reports
Able to compute rate ratio and percent when preparing cleaning chemicals
Efficiently utilize a personal computer, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Ability to report to work on time and work full assigned schedule to meet job expectations
Ability to work weekends, overtime, and holidays, as needed
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all team members and management
Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness
Accountable to self and others
Ability to climb up and down stairs to get to/from work areas, work at elevated levels, various heights, and in confined spaces, as applicable
Ability to stand and walk up to 12 hours/day
Requires bending, stooping, twisting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching above, below, and across at shoulder level, and repetitive motions
Ability to work in an environment where extreme temperatures range seasonally from hot/warm ( 80-90°F) to cold (20-40°F), where conditions may be damp and/or wet, and concrete floors may be slippery in some areas
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 70+ lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder level
Ability to flex/grip with wrists/hands and use maintenance tools
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net / beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves
