The Cook Chill Food Production Center is located on the grounds of the Maplehurst Correctional Facility; however, Cook Chill operates as an independent production facility and is separate from Maplehurst Corrections. There are no inmates on site at any time. Civeo Premium associates do not have any interaction with, nor access to, inmates.

We are seeking a Sanitation Worker who is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary facility in accordance with company policies, food safety standards, and legislative requirements. This role requires the proper knowledge and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning chemicals, and approved sanitation procedures to ensure a hygienic work environment. The Sanitation Worker is expected to comply with the Company Health and Safety Program, the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS regulations, and all facility policies and procedures, while actively supporting a culture of safety, cleanliness, and compliance across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas according to established procedures and schedules

  • Follow approved sanitation and cleaning practices for designated work areas

  • Comply with all safety guidelines, health regulations, and standard operating procedures

  • Properly use and maintain all required PPE

  • Adhere to Workplace Health & Safety Program requirements, OHSA, HACCP, and WHMIS regulations

  • Promptly report accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions and support investigations

  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet operational and production needs

  • Perform duties according to scheduled hours, work schedules, and break periods

  • Complete additional duties as assigned

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a regulated environment with compliance to HACCP, GMP, WHMIS, and occupational health and safety standards is an asset

  • Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting a minimum of 25 lbs, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling equipment

  • Able to stand for the entire shift and work in a cold environment

  • Strictly follow two‑person lift requirements for all bins

  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, and follow direction

  • Strong knowledge of workplace sanitation standards and compliance requirements

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work routines and priorities

  • Effective organizational and time‑management skills

  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills

  • Positive attitude with a commitment to customer service

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Understanding of HACCP procedures, food safety principles, and Occupational Health & Safety Act responsibilities

  • Required to wear job‑specific PPE at all times

  • Ability to obtain Advanced Food Safety Training (FST) certification within 90 days of hire

  • Successful completion of vulnerable sector check, criminal record check, and any other required security clearances.

  • Wage $20.30/ per hour
