JOB TITLE: Sanitation Coordinator

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Sanitation Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and technical support to the Sanitation Department. The Sanitation coordinator will train team members on the sanitation process, maintain sanitation equipment and document sanitation activities. The Sanitation Coordinator works closely with the Sanitation Team to effectively plan and execute work schedules, as well as provide leadership to the Sanitation Team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists in distributing the workload to the Sanitation Team and Operation Sanitation Team as defined by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Responsible for tracking and training of new and existing employees on proper sanitation procedures and safety training.
• Maintains proper function of sanitation equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), as well as, assuring the adequate inventories of PPE are always kept available.
• Utilizes powered cleaning equipment that may include lift truck, scissors lift, power washer, foam applicators, automatic compactors, and various non-mechanized equipment.
• Follows safety rules including but not limited to safe lifting, lock out/tag out wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), following Safety Data Sheets, proper disassembly, and reassembly of equipment. Participates in all necessary safety training, team development programs, and plant initiatives such as, LOTO, CPR, Chemical Safety, Walking & Working Surfaces, Powered industrial equipment, Confined Space (Entry, Attendant and/or Supervisor) Elevated Work and Non-Routine Work.
• Responsible for execution of plant equipment and infrastructure cleaning as described by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Maintain documentation for verification of Master Sanitation Schedule tasks
• Schedule labor to execute Master Sanitation Schedule tasks, one time cleaning tasks, and as needed sanitation in assigned areas.
• Train Production employees on the Sanitation process and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s).
• Responsible for completion & Training of GMP, All Alchemy courses and company policies for their respective teams.
• Work with Contracted services when Sanitation Manager / Supervisor is not on site.
• Performs other job-related projects, duties and assignments as directed.
• Responsible for pre-op or post sanitation inspections for all assigned sanitation tasks. Ensuring all sanitation tasks meet the sanitation performance standard.
• Work and Communicate / Collaborate with Production Supervisor & Production Coordinators to sign off on Sanitation lists when line is down. (Leader Standard Work)
• Must be capable of performing the work of a Sanitation Technician.
• Assists with implementation of plant CI efforts.
• Knowledgeable of CIP & COP systems and sanitation processes.
• Assists QA in EMP & UWE program Swabbing and ATP when production is done weekly cleaning.
• Responsible for Bulk system cleaning and maintaining of the Bulk Receiving systems. This is crucial for Plant Operations.
• Monitors, tracks, and documents chemical usage within the plant.
• Have excellent troubleshooting skills & able to prioritize job tasks when supervisor/managers are not on site.
• Knowledgeable on use of sanitation chemicals. Responsible for mixing chemistry and titration of sanitation chemistry.
• Documents chemistry titrations in the approved titration log.
• Creates/Updates Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s)
• Understands Charm ATP and performs verification swabs on food contact surfaces post sanitation cycles.
• Mandatory overtime may be required.
• May perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required.
Experience: a minimum of 3 years in a food processing manufacturing environment working within Sanitation/Quality is required. A minimum of 3 years’ experience, AIB-type courses, and certificates and pest control certification preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
