WAVE is currently looking for a Samples team member to join our team! The schedule is Monday through Friday 7 AM - 3 PM.


This position is responsible for performing various operations necessary to manufacture, pack, and ship sample acoustical products to internal sales representatives and external customers.

General Responsibilities:

  • Conduct product setups which include the setting of simple die configurations, stop gauges, and adjustments on the brake press, and cut-off press.
  • Inspect material for defects, color accuracy and kit fulfillment.
  • Prepare sample kits for shipment in accordance with defined packaging and shipping requirements.
  • Prepare daily shipment detail report to confirm outbound postage charges and ensure accuracy for accounts payable.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of sample kits and individual sample kit components.
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation; including quality, scrap, housekeeping and end-of-shift production.
  • Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner; use proper lock-out procedures during repairs or machine adjustments. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and make certain that all safety equipment is in proper working order.
  • Perform these and other related duties as assigned or directed.
  • Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture.

In addition to the above general responsibilities, a samples employee must preserve a safe work environment and work in a safe manner following all safety SOPs.

Measures of Effectiveness; including, but not limited to:

  • Safety – OSHA rate, compliance to regulations/policies, evidence of risk reduction, engagement in 8-Step Safety Process, near-miss reporting
  • Quality – Ability to recognize defects and implement corrective actions, correct packaging of samples
  • Productivity – Sample kits per hour, on-time delivery and accuracy of order fulfillment, accuracy of sample kit completion
  • Communication – Shift handoff and line preparation, Gemba, kaizen event participation

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred; knowledge and experience of machines in manufacturing environment, or similar
  • Microsoft Office application experience (Excel, Word, etc), preferred
  • Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds
  • Able to stand 8-10 hours per day in assigned work area
  • Background check required
