Everyone has an idea of what a water company does. At Affinity Water, we make sure that over 3.89 million customers can rely on our services, and have clean and safe drinking water on tap, But for us, it’s so much more than this.
What you'll be doing:
New environmental legislation, unprecedented levels of investment and changing expectations from customers means that this is an exciting time to discover opportunities within the water industry.
You’ll spend most of your time out and about visiting water treatment works, reservoirs, and other Affinity Water sites in and around Stevenage and collecting water samples across our operational areas.
You’ll perform routine, non-routine and random sampling across our supply area, working independently to complete your daily schedule.
There will be a level of interacting with our customers to gain access to residential properties to take water quality samples, and so you'll be comfortable with entering customer properties and engaging with the public.
There’s lots of autonomy in this role as you’ll plan your sampling schedule each day. You’ll be excellent at managing your time, meeting deadlines and be comfortable working alone.
When you’re not outdoors collecting samples, you’ll be based at our site in Stevenage, completing key administration tasks such as data input and recording samples into our internal systems. You’ll be comfortable using core IT programs such as MS Excel.
As the service you’ll provide is essential to the customer, you’ll be comfortable participating in a weekend and out-of-hours standby rota to ensure someone is always on hand when there's an operational issue. It’s all part of your outstanding service
