Job Description

Have you graduated in Analytical Chemistry at a University of Applied Sciences (HLO) or university level? Are you looking for a challenging laboratory position within a growing company? If so, Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing Leiden B.V. has an exciting opportunity for you as a Chemical Analyst within the (Bio)Chemistry Testing Business Unit.

This is a temporary position for approximately four months.

Within the QC laboratory, you will be independently responsible for performing and reporting chemical analyses of intermediates and finished products in accordance with international guidelines. The team works with a variety of analytical techniques, with your primary focus on:

• Water determination using various Karl Fischer methods;
• Container Closure Integrity Testing (CCIT) using Dye Ingress, HVLD, and CO₂ Headspace methods;
• Various characterization tests such as pH, osmolality, UV-Vis, and fluorescence analyses.

These instruments are used for the analysis of products ranging from pain relief tablets to hormones and antiparasitic veterinary medicines.

Collaboration is highly valued within the team, and the department maintains an informal working atmosphere. Annual activities include a barbecue, team outings, laboratory events, and other social gatherings outside working hours.

Qualifications

You aspire to work as a Chemical Analyst in a QC environment. You work accurately, take responsibility for your daily tasks, and meet the following requirements:

• A degree at HLO or university level in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field, providing a solid foundation in chemical analyses;
• Affinity with pharmaceutical finished products;
• A passion for working in the pharmaceutical industry;
• Motivation, eagerness to learn, and the ability to quickly master new techniques;
• Preferably experience, gained through internships or a first job, with instrumental analytical techniques such as UV-Vis and Karl Fischer methods;
• Preferably experience working within a quality system such as GMP, GLP, or ISO 17025;
• A strong focus on the quality of your own work and that of your colleagues;
• Good command of the English language, both written and spoken; Dutch is an advantage;
• Ability to work both independently and effectively within a team;
• Ability to perform under pressure and organize and plan work independently.

In addition, you are eager to use your knowledge to help improve the department in this growing organization. You are efficient and enjoy streamlining processes. This requires not only intelligence and accuracy but also strong interpersonal and communication skills.
