Job Description

Working at Boskalis is about creating new horizons and sustainable solutions. In a world where population growth, an increase in global trade, demand for (new) energy, and climate change are driving forces, we challenge you to make your mark in finding innovative and relevant solutions for complex infrastructural and marine projects.

SMIT Salvage is part of Boskalis and in your job you will work for this salvage company that is one of the largest in the world. We have an extensive track record and our client base includes many ship owners, governments, oil and gas companies and leading insurers. The power of the sea is unpredictable. We have five strategically located offices near the main global shipping routes: Rotterdam, Houston, Cape Town, Macae and Singapore.

As a Salvage Diver/Rigger, you will make your mark by contributing to the operational part of emergency responses and wreck removals worldwide. Teamwork is key in salvage activities, which take place both under and above water. The work consists of miscellaneous tasks like welding and cargo handling but also work on deck.

You are responsible for independently performing complex diving and salvage tasks, leveraging extensive experience as a salvage diver. Take charge on deck during diving operations and execute assigned tasks with a small team, possessing sufficient theoretical knowledge to independently solve basic problems.

As a Salvage Diver/Rigger, you will be working for SMIT Salvage, one of the largest salvage companies in the world and part of the Boskalis Westminster N.V. and working closely with agents worldwide. SMIT Salvage has an extensive track record and its clients include many leading insurers.

  • Provide input to the Superintendent and Dive Foreman to improve our operational and safety standards.
  • Responsible for working in compliance with the relevant SHE-Q policies and ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Play a role in sustainability and environmental management.

Your qualities

You can make your mark as Salvage Diver / Rigger if you have:

  • A valid Medical Dive Certificate. Dive qualification of IMCA HSE Part 1 or equivalent.
