Job Description

A day in your life with us

Do you enjoy physically active warehouse work and interacting with customers? Are you looking for a part-time job alongside your studies or to supplement your primary employment? Then you might be exactly who we're looking for!

The Self-Serve Warehouse is located on the lower level of the store, where customers collect their new furniture directly from the shelves. We ensure that the warehouse is tidy, well-presented, and easy to navigate, while working closely with our Logistics team to make sure our products are always available and in good condition.

We are also always available to assist customers with any questions and strive to provide the best possible shopping experience in the warehouse.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and organizing the warehouse to ensure it is presentable and easy for customers to navigate.
  • Returning returned items to their correct locations.
  • Preparing sales locations so that the Logistics team can restock products overnight.
  • Contributing to our shared goals and taking ownership of your areas of responsibility within the department.
  • Collaborating with other functions and departments throughout the store.
  • Being part of an amazing team that works hard while having fun at the same time.

Why we will love you

We're looking for someone who loves making a difference for the many people. When customers visit IKEA, your help and guidance play an important part in making their shopping experience easy, efficient, and positive. Your background may vary – what matters most is that you bring energy, enjoy helping people, and can see things from the customer's perspective.

We are also looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in customer service or logistics.
  • Enjoys a physically active role with routine tasks while helping customers in a busy environment.
  • Can work independently and approach tasks in a structured and goal-oriented manner.
  • Have a good level of physical fitness, as the role involves being active throughout the day.
  • Can communicate fluently in either Danish or English.

Our team within IKEA

You will join a team of full-time and part-time co-workers in a busy store environment. We work closely with colleagues across the store, so you'll have the chance to collaborate with lots of different people. We have a strong team culture where we support each other and work together to achieve our goals. You'll be encouraged to be yourself, build great relationships, and feel part of the team from day one. We provide the training and support you need to feel confident and ready to succeed in your role.

Further information

  • The position is based on 8-15 hours per week on average, in accordance with the flexible part-time provisions set out in the HK Handel collective agreement. This means that you are guaranteed an average of 13 hours per week, and your working hours cannot exceed an average of 20 hours per week. Please ensure that you meet the requirements for flexible part-time employment (generally, you must be a student, pensioner, or have another job with significantly more working hours).
  • Your working hours will primarily be scheduled during the store's opening hours. You should expect to work 1-2 closing shifts on weekdays and every other weekend, including both Saturdays and Sundays.
  • IKEA is a diverse workplace, and therefore some of your colleagues communicate primarily in English.
  • We follow the HK retail collective agreement and offer a wide range of benefits, including an employee discount, massage scheme, bonus programme, staff canteen, health insurance through PFA, and much more.
  • As part of the recruitment process, you may be asked to provide a criminal record certificate.
  • Preferred start date: November 1, 2026, or by agreement.
  • Apply no later than September 17, 2026.
  • Please note: We review applications on an ongoing basis and reserve the right to close the vacancy once we have received a sufficient number of relevant applications.

At IKEA, we believe in people – not perfect CVs. What matters most is your energy and your willingness to make a difference. Apply now – whether you are young, a senior, or somewhere in between!
