Your Mission

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the sales pipeline and tendering activities, ensuring the effective management of opportunities from identification through to contract award. The role combines commercial leadership with robust bid management, overseeing bid/no-bid decisions, tender strategy, proposal development, stakeholder coordination, and submission governance. By working closely with internal experts and external clients, the Sales Manager ensures proposals are commercially sound, technically robust, and aligned with customer requirements, ultimately supporting business growth through successful tender outcomes and long-term client partnerships.

You will join a dedicated international team responsible for developing and commercializing Tractebel's engineering and consulting services across the nuclear, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Promote Tractebel's engineering, consulting, and project delivery services across regulated industries.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, proposal preparation, commercial negotiation, and contract signature.
  • Work closely with technical experts, business managers, and project teams to develop client-focused solutions.
  • Support bid preparation and commercial strategy for key opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within your region.
  • Represent Tractebel at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
  • Collaborate with regional and international teams to leverage expertise and maximize business opportunities.
  • Contribute to the achievement of annual sales targets and business growth objectives.

We would love to hear from people with

  • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, business development, account management, or commercial roles within engineering, energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
  • Experience working within regulated industries such as Nuclear, Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Power Generation, Utilities, Rail, Defence, or similar sectors is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to develop customer relationships and generate new business opportunities.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing complex sales processes and negotiations.

Who you are

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong influencing and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office applications.
  • Fluent in English & Dutch (written and spoken).
