Job Description

As Salesforce Technical Lead within the Agilent IT Team, you will be part of a high-performance global team chartered to deliver secure, scalable, and enterprise-wide Salesforce solutions. In this role, you will partner with Sales, Marketing, Services, and IT organizations to design, develop, configure, integrate, monitor, and support Salesforce capabilities across Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, CRM Analytics, Salesforce AI, and related platforms. You will also work closely with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, security, and observability teams to ensure Salesforce solutions are reliable, well-governed, and aligned with Agilent’s business and technology roadmap.

The Salesforce.com Senior Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, securing, monitoring, and supporting enterprise Salesforce solutions that meet business requirements and enable reliable, scalable, and well-governed business processes. Specific responsibilities are:

  • Lead requirement gathering sessions with business stakeholders, architects, product owners, and solution teams to define requirements and present scalable Salesforce solutions.
  • Design, develop, configure, test, and deploy Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, Flows, validation rules, security models, and other Salesforce platform capabilities.
  • Provide deep technical expertise in Salesforce configuration, customization, automation, integration, data model design, and platform services to support enterprise CRM processes.
  • Design and maintain Salesforce security and access control models, including profiles, permission sets, roles, sharing rules, record-level access, field-level security, and access governance.
  • Drive technical design sessions, create technical design documents, and guide solution decisions that balance scalability, performance, security, maintainability, and business value.
  • Establish and support end-to-end Salesforce monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response practices to improve production stability and operational visibility.
  • Enable enterprise observability for Salesforce using Splunk or similar platforms, including log ingestion, dashboards, alerts, error tracking, and operational insights.
  • Develop and support Salesforce Data Cloud, CRM Analytics, and Salesforce AI capabilities to enable data-driven insights, automation, productivity improvements, and business decision-making.
  • Design and develop integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, event-based integrations, and standard Salesforce integration patterns.
  • Implement and enhance Salesforce solutions for CRM and PRM business processes integrated with SAP CRM, ECC, SAP CPQ, Marketing Cloud, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Manage Salesforce DevOps and release management practices using GitHub, Gearset, CI/CD pipelines, environment management, testing, deployment governance, and production readiness controls.
  • Stay current with Salesforce platform innovations and partner with product experts to evaluate new capabilities, demonstrate practical use cases, and contribute to Agilent’s Salesforce roadmap.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of strong hands-on Salesforce experience, including implementation, development, configuration, customization, integration, and production support in enterprise environments.
  • Strong Salesforce development experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL, Flows, triggers, batch jobs, asynchronous processing, and Salesforce platform services.
  • Strong Salesforce configuration expertise, including objects, fields, page layouts, record types, validation rules, approval processes, automation, reports, dashboards, and business process setup.
  • Deep experience with Salesforce security setup and access control, including profiles, permission sets, permission set groups, roles, sharing rules, organization-wide defaults, field-level security, record access, and access troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience designing and operating end-to-end monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident management processes for Salesforce production environments.
  • Experience enabling enterprise observability for Salesforce using Splunk or similar tools, including dashboards, alerts, log analysis, error tracking, trend analysis, and production support insights.
  • Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, including data model setup, identity resolution concepts, segmentation, activation, and integration with broader Salesforce and enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience with CRM Analytics, including datasets, dashboards, reporting, insights, and analytics use cases that support business decision-making.
  • Experience applying Salesforce AI capabilities, including Einstein features, automation, predictive insights, and productivity improvements for business users.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of integrating Salesforce with third-party and enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, events, connectors, Data Loader, or other integration patterns.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and Salesforce deployment strategies, including GitHub-based source control, Gearset, environment management, automated validation, release governance, and production change control.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer II, Administrator, Platform App Builder, Sales Cloud Consultant, Data Cloud Consultant, CRM Analytics, or Application/System Architect are preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to multi-task, handle high-pressure production situations, troubleshoot complex issues, and make effective decisions with appropriate risk awareness.

This job has a full time weekly schedule.Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
