Job Description

As a Salesforce Product Owner, you will be responsible for:

  • Seeing projects through the full life cycle.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and explaining your ideas in a short, precise but intuitive way.
  • Successful internal and external partner collaboration across IT, business stakeholders and peers.

Salesforce Knowledge

  • Must have - Experience with Service cloud, Finance cloud, Experience cloud is a must.
  • Good to have – Experience with Data cloud, voice cloud, digital engagement and omnichannel.
  • Experience on VF pages / Aura / LWC.
  • Experience in JavaScript and Salesforce lightning design library (SLDS).
  • Experience working with various Salesforce offerings (Exp. with CPQ is a plus).
  • Experience with inbound and outbound integrating with other 3rd party applications and services.
  • Good knowledge of Salesforce governor limits ensuring optimized, performant, and scalable solutions.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the functional expert to facilitate discovery, requirements gathering sessions and document the functional, technical, data, and other requirements.
  • Act as a focal for an Epic/business area/system and actively support the questions and requests from the business.
  • Own the releases - deployment on production and ensure no changes go on production without review.
  • Develop strong relationships across the organization, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) and trusted advisor in all processes related to Salesforce.
  • Partner with Salesforce developers to perform preview testing and review results to make sure there is no impact on the current implementation.
  • Create functional, technical and design documentation and provide advice on application solutions.
  • Work with the team to estimate project timeframes, create project plans & set different delivery milestones for the projects.
  • Drive business analysis through considering stakeholder needs with a view of the capabilities of the platform.
  • Perform requirement gathering, work with stakeholders and scope Salesforce project timelines.
  • Create user stories with clear Acceptance Criteria in Jira.
  • Be hands on when it comes to initial UAT phase & work alongside the business owner.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Comfortable leading meetings and explaining your ideas in a short, precise but intuitive way.
  • Successful internal and external partner collaboration across IT, business stakeholders and peers.
  • Collaborate with business teams to gather new requirements, refine them and transform them into actionable stories.
  • Work in conjunction with the senior technical staff to finalize the technical design / solutions.
  • Participate in sprint meetings and help during the planning, refinement, and estimation of stories.
  • Understand dependency with other teams/external applications and take actions to mitigate them within timelines.

System Health and Quality of Deliverables

  • Ensure that any code that is written goes with proper exception handling and there should be no execution paths that can skip it.
  • Proactively get the code reviews done and continuously learn the architectural guard rails and governor limits provided by salesforce.

What You Will Need To Succeed

Must Be:

  • A techie with a minimum 7+ yrs. of relevant industry experience primarily Salesforce platform.
  • Certifications - Salesforce Administrator / Salesforce Business Analyst (Must have) / Other product manager certifications.
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
  • Comfortable using JIRA, working with Agile and other product management tools.
  • Comfortable working in flexible hours.
  • Able to read, write and speak English proficiently.
  • Technical aptitude and interest in software product design, data/information architecture and development of projects.
  • Bachelor’s or above.

Contribution to Knowledge Base

  • Create flawless documentation that can help visualize the end-to-end business requirement and how it fits into the current system.
  • Add/Update knowledge base to document the approach for recurring activities.
  • Help to maintain the technical documentation and keep it updated by working along with team members.
