Key responsibilities of a Salesforce Lead Consultant:
Client Engagement & Leadership
- Lead Salesforce engagemefornts from discovery through to delivery, with accountability for solution quality and client outcomes
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to define business needs and translate them into clear, actionable solutions
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on platform capabilities, best practices, and solution approach
- Engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including business users, product owners, and senior leadership
- Drive alignment across stakeholders, managing competing priorities and ensuring clarity on solution direction
Solution Design & Architecture
- Design end-to-end Salesforce solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned to platform best practices
- Make key design decisions, including trade-offs between declarative and programmatic approaches
- Define solution architecture across Sales, Service, and Field Service processes
- Ensure strong alignment between business requirements, data model design, and automation strategy
- Produce high-quality solution documentation, including user stories, process flows, and design specifications
Salesforce Flow & Automation (Core Focus)
- Design, build, and optimise advanced Salesforce Flows, including:
- Record-Triggered Flows (before-save & after-save)
- Screen Flows for guided user experiences
- Scheduled Flows and asynchronous automation
- Replace legacy automation (Workflow Rules / Process Builder) with modern Flow-based solutions
- Apply best practices for:
- Performance optimisation (before vs after save logic)
- Bulkification and scalability
- Error handling and fault paths
- Reusable and modular Flow design
- Build complex business logic across:
- Opportunity lifecycle and approvals
- Case management and SLA enforcement
- Field Service processes (work orders, scheduling, status transitions)
- Troubleshoot and debug Flow issues in production environments
Requirements & Solution Design
- Capture and document detailed business requirements and translate into Flow-driven solutions
- Produce:
- User stories and acceptance criteria
- Process maps and automation design documentation
- Data models aligned to automation strategy
- Design end-to-end automation architecture across Salesforce clouds
Salesforce Configuration ( Declarative)
- Configure Salesforce using “clicks not code”:
- Custom objects, fields, validation rules
- Page layouts and Lightning record pages
- Reports and dashboards
- Deliver solutions across:
- Salesforce Sales Cloud
- Salesforce Service Cloud
- Salesforce Field Service
Delivery Oversight & Governance
- Take ownership of end-to-end delivery, ensuring solutions meet quality standards, timelines, and functional requirements
- Identify, manage, and mitigate delivery risks, dependencies, and blockers
- Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and solution reviews
- Define and enforce delivery standards, including naming conventions, documentation, and deployment practices
- Ensure consistency and quality across all solution components
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Provide leadership and direction to consultants and analysts across delivery teams
- Review and validate solution designs and configurations to ensure alignment with best practices
- Mentor team members in Salesforce capabilities, particularly Flow and declarative design
- Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team
