Why This Role Matters
The Salesforce Engineer will work closely with the Technical Lead, Product Manager and wider engineering teams to design, build, test and support Salesforce solutions.
We are looking for a strong engineer who is excited to learn Salesforce, enjoys solving complex business problems, takes ownership of delivery, and wants to grow into a senior technical role over time. If you have solid engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and a track record of learning new technologies quickly, we'd love to hear from you.
This role is ideal for an engineer with strong technical fundamentals who is looking to develop deep expertise on the Salesforce platform while contributing to large-scale enterprise transformation initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver who enjoys learning new technologies, taking ownership of technical delivery, and collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders. They will play an important role in implementing scalable, maintainable solutions while helping evolve technical standards, frameworks, and best practices across the Salesforce estate.
How You'll Make an Impact
Solution Delivery
Build, configure, test and deploy Salesforce solutions.
Develop custom functionality using Salesforce platform technologies.
Assist in the design and implementation of integrations with internal and external systems.
Investigate and resolve technical issues across development, testing and production environments.
Support ongoing enhancement and development of Salesforce applications.
Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
Technical Ownership
Collaborate with BAs, Product Owners, Technical Leads and Architecture Team to take ownership of technical work items from refinement and design through to development and deployment.
Work closely with the Technical Lead to understand architectural patterns and implementation standards.
Contribute to technical documentation including solution designs, sequence diagrams and process flows.
Help identify opportunities for automation, simplification and technical improvement.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
Engineering Excellence
Follow established development standards, DevOps processes and coding best practices.
Contribute to internal frameworks, reusable components and technical accelerators.
Ensure solutions are maintainable, secure and scalable.
Support testing activities and framework designs including unit, integration and user acceptance testing.
Continuously develop knowledge of Salesforce and broader software engineering practices.
Collaborate with broader teams across the Christies Technology space to grow your understanding and appreciation of the full development and application lifecycle. Supported exposure to considerations spanning teams such as Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Data Privacy, Product Ownership, Application Support and others.
What you’ll bring to the team
Educated to Degree Level preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related subjects.
Training and Certification in Salesforce technologies is an advantage
2+ years experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or application development in Salesforce.
Experience with at least one modern programming language (Java, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Apex or similar).
Understanding of software engineering fundamentals including:
o APIs
o Data modelling
o Version control
o Testing
o CI/CD concepts
o Object-oriented design
Understanding and ideally hands-on experience with core Salesforce technical competencies such as:
o Configuration based automation (flows, validation rules, formula fields, etc.)
o Apex trigger-based automation.
o Apex programming language.
o Salesforce specific object interface protocols such as SOQL and DML operations and associated best practices.
o UI/UX configurations including standard Salesforce UI components such as Flexipages and Layouts, as well as more complex or custom Lightning Web Component structures and designs.
Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to provide accurate estimates and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong abilities to develop and enhance relationships with stakeholders and peers
