Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Job Description Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Technology Projects Office/Salesforce, this position serves as the Salesforce developer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Chapman’s Salesforce environment across two orgs: University Advancement’s fundraising system (“Advancement RM”) and a custom-built org for Career Development. The role develops and customizes Salesforce solutions using Apex and Visualforce, manages integrations with institutional systems including PeopleSoft, Azure, and Handshake, and works with the user community to gather, document, and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
The candidate should be skilled in handling clients and translating their business requirements, with knowledge of programming languages such as Apex and Visualforce. They will be playing a key role in integrating Salesforce with other systems (such as PeopleSoft, Azure, Handshake, and others), ensuring smooth data flow and automation. Candidates should be proficient with the Salesforce platform, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and AppExchange apps. An ideal candidate will be proficient with AI tools such as Claude and knowledgeable about the newly released Claudeforce.
The candidate must be able to identify technical obstacles, evaluate complex business requirements, and provide practical solutions that meet both functional and non-functional needs. They are encouraged to pursue ongoing education and professional growth to stay up to date with changing market trends and technological advancements.
The ideal candidate should be able to gather business requirements from non-technical end users and translate them into technical solutions.
This position will report to the Director of Technology Projects Office/Salesforce
