We are now seeking a Salesforce Data Specialist who will play a pivotal role in supporting Canteen’s data‑driven decision-making by ensuring data across Salesforce and connected systems is reliable, well governed, and translated into meaningful insights. This role offers an opportunity make a real impact within the Business Systems and Data Team and be part of an organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

About our role

  • The role is responsible for designing and maintaining data pipelines and automation using Salesforce platform capabilities such as Salesforce Flows, Data 360, Agentforce, and external APIs. In some cases, lightweight Apex may be required for scheduling or orchestration where declarative tools are not sufficient. 
  • Oversee the Salesforce data ingestion foundations, ensuring data is brought into the platform consistently and accurately, is validated and governed to a high standard, and is fit for purpose to support organisational use cases.   
  • Enable teams and leaders to confidently use Salesforce data by translating business questions into trusted insights, reporting, and analytics. 
  • Provide trusted advice, governance support, and continuous improvement to ensure Salesforce data solutions are sustainable, well-governed, and aligned with organisational needs. 

About You

  • Salesforce Administrator Certification required. Additional Salesforce certifications related to data, analytics, or automation are desirable. 
  • Hands‑on experience designing, building, and maintaining Salesforce Flows in production environments. 
  • Practical experience developing, deploying, and supporting targeted Apex in production. environments to complement declarative solutions, particularly for data pipelines, scheduling, or orchestration use cases. 
  • Practical experience integrating data into Salesforce using external APIs. 
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce Data 360, including data modelling, segmentation, or activation concepts. 
  • Exposure to Agentforce or Salesforce AI capabilities, with an understanding of safe and governed use. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes. 
  • Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Warm, compassionate, and friendly approach to supporting our young people.

Employment Expectations

To ensure an ongoing commitment to the success of Canteen, all applications must be able to:

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
