Performs highly advanced computer systems analysis work in support of TxDOT District/Division information technology systems. Oversees work involving analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. Oversees technical support and advice involving the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of projects/programs and/or systems. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinates the development, implementation and maintenance of IT/IS architecture, processes, policies, standards, procedures and associated roles and responsibilities.
  • Manages one or more projects and systems involving software development and life cycle.
  • Oversees the evaluation of methods, tools, hardware and software used to improve the analysis, development, integration, implementation and maintenance of information systems.
  • Serves as subject matter expert.
  • Develop solutions, proof of concepts and optimizations of Salesforce platform
  • Design and provide solution recommendations and roadmaps for service modernizations using Salesforce Platform, both out-of-box capabilities and customized solutions
  • Develop architecture models depicting Salesforce solutions, along with service integrations, for service modernizations
  • Design and implement security and permission models, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Develop and Configure Salesforce components: Lightening web components, Apex, Apex triggers, Apex web services, Apex flows, Apex APIs, app exchange and deployments
  • Conduct code reviews for ongoing projects to ensure that code quality is at the highest level possible and appropriate design patterns are being used for Salesforce platform
  • Coordinate closely with Delivery Managers, Solution Architects, and directly with customers to architect Salesforce solutions to meet business requirements
  • Coordinates and/or tests and diagnoses systems to ensure critical requirements are met, to include but not limited to system interfaces.
  • Troubleshoots and analyzes technical problems associated with local applications.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Work Experience:

4 years of experience in systems analysis, application systems support, or related work experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent) Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

License and Certification:

Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect

  • IT/IS software and hardware development methodologies and standards

  • Analytical and detailed oriented ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and emerging technologies
  • Influencing a growing team while acting as a technical guide, being able to both speak conceptually and be comfortable doing hand on coding as well
  • Researching, analyzing, and interpreting policies and state and federal laws and regulations specific to functional area
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with others
  • Scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing computer programs/systems
  • Troubleshooting computer systems
  • Communicating technical information effectively
  • Exercises logic and reasoning to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; makes decisions that support business objectives and goals

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

- Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
- Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
- Talking-expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken words
- Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
