SALES TEAM LEAD

Salary: ₦350,000 – ₦400,000 Net Monthly
Experience Required: 5–7 Years (Mandatory ISP / Telecommunications Experience)
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sales Team Lead to drive revenue growth, lead a high-performing sales team, and expand our market presence within the Telecommunications and ISP sector. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in broadband, fiber, enterprise connectivity, and corporate sales, coupled with strong leadership and business development capabilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving revenue targets, coaching and managing Sales Executives, developing strategic sales initiatives, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring operational excellence across the sales function.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth & Sales Performance
- Drive the achievement and surpassing of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales revenue targets.
- Develop and execute sales plans to increase market penetration and customer acquisition.
- Monitor pipeline performance, lead conversion rates, and sales productivity metrics.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within residential, SME, enterprise, and corporate markets.
- Promote and sell broadband, fiber connectivity, dedicated internet access, enterprise solutions, and other value-added services.
- Ensure sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and motivate Sales Executives to achieve individual and team objectives.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and field supervision activities.
- Set clear sales targets, KPIs, and expectations for team members.
- Monitor performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, collaboration, and high performance.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of sales personnel.
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Identify high-value prospects, including corporate organizations, estates, government institutions, SMEs, and enterprise clients.
- Develop strategic account acquisition plans and market penetration initiatives.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities.
- Develop proposals, presentations, and business cases to secure new business opportunities.
- Participate in networking events, client meetings, and business development activities.
Client Relationship & Account Management
- Support the sales team in closing strategic and high-value deals.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Ensure excellent customer experience throughout the sales lifecycle, from prospecting to installation and post-sales support.
- Handle escalations professionally while protecting the company's reputation and brand image.
- Collaborate with Service Delivery, Technical Support, and Customer Experience teams to ensure seamless service activation and customer satisfaction.
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Monitor daily sales activities, prospecting efforts, follow-ups, installations, and revenue generation.
- Track and review PIF submissions, sales documentation, and customer onboarding processes.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports.
- Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and performance gaps.
- Provide actionable recommendations to improve sales effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records using CRM and reporting systems.
Compliance & Process Management
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies, pricing guidelines, SLA commitments, and approval processes.
- Monitor documentation accuracy and ensure compliance with operational procedures.
- Ensure proper follow-through on installations, service activation, billing, and customer onboarding.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Promote ethical sales practices and corporate governance standards.
Training & Capability Development
- Conduct regular product knowledge and sales skills training sessions.
- Reinforce the organization's value propositions, including service reliability, uptime guarantees, redundancy solutions, and cost-effectiveness.
- Improve team capabilities in objection handling, negotiation, consultative selling, and closing techniques.
- Identify training needs and develop performance improvement initiatives.
- Promote continuous learning and professional growth within the sales team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Telecommunications, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of sales experience within the Telecommunications or ISP industry.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory, team lead, or sales management role.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong experience selling ISP solutions, broadband services, fiber connectivity, enterprise internet, and corporate telecommunications products.
- Professional certifications in Sales, Marketing, Leadership, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), or Business Development will be an added advantage.
