Position Overview:

The Sales Support Specialist performs a variety of operational functions to support the setup, maintenance, and administration of customer accounts within Motiva’s systems. This role is responsible for ensuring customer requests, inquiries, and account setup activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner, with a strong focus on Operational Excellence.

The Sales Support team serves as a key resource for troubleshooting a wide range of customer account and process-related issues, partnering closely with internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve discrepancies. This role requires a strong understanding of multiple business processes, systems, and their interdependencies across Motiva’s end-to-end supply chain, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement.

This is a developmental opportunity for individuals interested in gaining a comprehensive understanding of customer account management, Motiva’s Marketing & Sales organization, and operational troubleshooting. The successful candidate will develop expertise in Motiva’s Marketing & Sales business processes and become a trusted point of contact for inquiries related to customer accounts and Sales Support functions. This position provides a strong foundation for future career growth and advancement within Motiva.

This is an in-office position located at Motiva’s corporate headquarters in Downtown Houston, Texas. Employees work onsite Monday through Thursday and follow a 9/80 work schedule, providing every other Friday off.

Responsibilities:

• Create, maintain, and amend customer accounts utilizing SAP S/4HANA, RightAngle, Salesforce, and Pega to support the end-to-end setup and onboarding of third-party terminal customers.
• Ensure customer requests, inquiries, and account setup activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with established policies, procedures, controls, and delegated authorities.
• Deliver a high level of customer service by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate customer account setups and resolve account-related issues.
• Investigate and troubleshoot customer setup and account maintenance issues to ensure timely resolution and successful onboarding.
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of business processes, systems, and integration points across Motiva's Marketing & Sales organization and end-to-end supply chain.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance operational efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the Sales Support function.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support day-to-day operations, resolve business issues, and share knowledge.
• Manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and responsiveness.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree required. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in business, marketing, information technology, customer support, operations, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and recommend effective solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• Self-motivated with sound judgment, initiative, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Information Technology, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably supporting commercial, contract administration, customer support, supply chain, or marketing operations.
• Experience working with SAP, Salesforce, RightAngle, Pega, or similar enterprise systems.
