Job Description

The Manager, Global Sales, Sales Support manages a team of Sales Coordinators- Lead Catchers and/or Account Specialist responsible for the lead management and merchandising of sales opportunities by utilizing Marriott's sales information systems and technology, as well as provide sales, reporting and general administrative support and sales program/event coordination.

In addition to the team management responsibilities, the Manager will work closely with the Sales leaders to support the pull through of sales strategies, key initiatives, and Marriott business objectives.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major and 2+ years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance;

OR

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience in marketing or related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance.

Preferred

  • Experience in hospitality industry.
  • Experience in SFAWeb CI/TY, CVENT and other eRFP systems
  • Experience in working with large group business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Prior experience managing a team of individual contributors.
  • Account management experience

Leading and Managing Team

  • Provides strategic direction and maintains documentation for performance metrics and customer interactions.
  • Develops associates and cultivates a high performance, team oriented culture.
  • Leads Sales Coordinators/Sales Merchandisers to drive effective lead management and increase sales opportunity conversion.
  • Promotes accountability and achievement of business goals.
  • Oversees daily operations to ensure successful execution of GSO strategies and processes.
  • Partners with management to enhance department performance through continuous improvement.
  • Recognizes team achievements and fosters a positive, engaging work environment.
  • Ensures completion of core/mandatory training for self and direct reports.
  • Recruits and onboards team members for success in the Sales Coordinator role.
  • Conducts performance appraisals, sets business goals, and supports associate development.
  • Seeks and responds to associate feedback, ensuring fair treatment and promoting retention.
  • Manages PTO for Sales Coordinators and maintains processes to minimize business disruption.
  • Balances team workload, removes barriers to performance, and escalates issues when needed.
  • Ensures team proficiency and effective use of all application platforms.
  • Executes special projects and tasks as assigned by Global Sales Leadership.
  • Demonstrates strong negotiation and sales skills and shares best practices with the team.
  • Coaches team members on GSO systems and tools.
  • Facilitates meetings and huddles to communicate updates and key information.
  • Identifies and escalates risks, issues, and concerns to leadership.

Overseeing the Sales Support team

  • Ensures consistent adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Supports daily operational needs to maintain smooth team workflow.
  • Partners closely with Managers to drive completion of key priorities and initiatives.
  • Contributes to new hire onboarding to ensure a successful transition into the team.
  • Provides regular reporting to the Senior Director and Global Sales Leadership, highlighting key trends and insights from coaching and data analysis.
  • Continuously evaluates and enhances procedures and processes to drive efficiency and ongoing improvement.
