Sales Strategy Leader

This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape Bayer’s Consumer Health executional strategy alongside a dynamic team in a competitive market.

The Sales Strategy Leader for Bayer's Consumer Health portfolio will be responsible for driving Canada-wide sales growth and enhancing retailer partnerships. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in sales analytics, promotional and pricing strategies and multi-functional collaboration.

Bayer is committed to a flexible hybrid working environment. This is a permanent position based out of Mississauga, Ontario, requiring local travel.

What you will do:

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the development and execution of sales strategies that align with Bayer's overall business objectives, utilizing insights from market analysis and customer feedback.
  • Pricing and Promotion Analytics: Analyze pricing strategies and promotional effectiveness, translating findings into clear guidance for the sales team to optimize trade programs and maximize ROI.
  • Channel Strategy Leadership: Lead and drive channel strategy to ensure alignment with overall sales goals, optimizing distribution and market penetration.
  • Trade Optimization: Develop, adapt, and optimize trade programs in collaboration with the sales team, ensuring plans are tailored to retailer needs and market dynamics.
  • Joint Business Planning: Work with category and marketing to develop growth initiatives by translating brand plans into effective customer activation plans and driving joint business planning with customers
  • Price Pack Architecture + Revenue Growth Management: Lead and facilitate revenue growth management initiatives and Price Pack Architecture (PPA) in collaboration with marketing, category management, and finance. Develop strategies that optimize pricing structures and product packaging to enhance market competitiveness and drive sustainable growth.
  • Team Leadership: Partner with sales teams to execute trade programs and adapt plans based on retailer needs, guiding them to meet sales targets and productivity goals.
  • Performance Monitoring: Drive a data-driven approach to decision-making, creating actionable plans for ongoing measurement and optimization of sales strategies.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Co-lead allocations, bonus pack strategies and support optimizing pre-pack display executions.
  • Ensure all activities/events are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, in accordance with Bayer Safety, compliance and Sustainability Policies.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Strong level of experience in sales strategy, finance, account management for large retail customers within consumer-packaged goods (OTC preferred)
  • Proven track record of developing successful sales strategies and achieving sales targets.

The base salary range for this role is between $118,160 and $168,160. This compensation includes components such as base salary, vacation pay, public holiday pay, potential estimated overtime pay and paid statutory leaves of absence. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, and contributory retirement savings plans, etc.

This role also provides the opportunity to earn additional performance-based compensation. If performance-based compensation is earned, the total compensation package may provide an opportunity to earn a Total Direct Compensation ( TDC) range of $139,400 and $189,400 This TDC would include base salary and may also include items like bonuses (short-term and long-term incentives) and sales incentives. The estimated TDC range estimates performance-based compensation earned at 100% of target; however actual amounts may fluctuate below or above the TDC range based on company and/or individual performance.

This salary range is an estimate and may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, market data and the applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience, job-related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
