Manage all aspects of sales for a given business segment. Responsible for executing BlueLinx’ local value proposition and ensuring customer satisfaction by providing quality products and superior customer service. Sets goals/objectives, performance targets and monitors sales performance / pricing practices. Supports and drives sales force effectiveness and key productivity initiatives. Works across business to drive sales and profitability.

What You'll Do
Understands the company’s vision, mission, and strategy; understands business unit objectives and sets/accomplishes individual performance goals accordingly.
Manages and develops relationships with key customers and determines strategy for value proposition and product penetration. Manages all aspects of customer service and customer satisfaction.
Works with General Managers to develop sales district plans that specify what needs to be achieved, and build execution plans for achieving or exceeding targets.
Identify / prospecting new sales opportunities with new and existing customers. Maximizes sales efforts by focusing time on largest most profitable opportunities.
Improves profitability, product penetration, product mix, and inventory turns with all customers for assigned product(s).
Maintains awareness of current market. May assist General Managers with sales calls and presentations with key strategic customers.
Conducts joint sales calls with sales representatives to identify opportunities and maintain/build customer relationships (including sales representative coaching/mentoring).
Recommends product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Resolves sensitive customer issues.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Construction Management, or a related field required.
MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
6+ years of experience in related area of responsibility preferred.
Sales experience, knowledge of product pricing, purchasing, account management, warehousing, transportation, safety, business development, customer service and support.
Excellent ability to operate with considerable latitude in situations requiring original or new concepts / approaches and situations that have little or no precedent.
Ability to work with a team of cross-functional BlueLinx employees to help develop, execute and drive a successful profitable strategy. Ability to engage others in developing innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operating problems.
Financial acumen (specifically financial statements), strong analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative).
Planning, negotiation, decision-making, innovation, change management, persuasiveness and strong interpersonal skills.
Territory management and target marketing skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, sense of urgency, innovative, problem solving. Customer focused.
Consultative and relationship selling skills.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Software and relevant sales systems technology.

The salary range provided is a good-faith estimate based on the position requirements and market data. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations. BlueLinx also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health care, dental, vision, life and disability insurance starting the first day of the month, 15 days of paid time off that start accruing your first day, and 8 paid holidays per year
