Job Description

Purpose

The Sales Specialist reports to the Director of Sales, UK & Europe. As a member of the Global Sales team, we manage and grow business with Armstrong Collective’s travel partners.

More specifically, this role utilizes their expertise and passion for the company values to manage the proactive outreach (voice and digital channels) to acquire and grow the business of an assigned group of small travel partner accounts in the UK & Europe. The role is responsible for the development of close relationships with the trade channel including acquiring new partners and growing the business. This full-time role may require periodic travel throughout the UK and Europe. The assigned region may change from time to time.

Key Areas of Accountability

Account Management

This role will support and achieve aggressive growth targets and identify and increase market penetration within the the market and accounts assigned.

  • Execute against the plans developed by the Director.
  • Develop business through relationship building with accounts within assigned region.
  • Successfully manage existing partner relationships and deepen the partnerships to grow both FIT and Groups business.
  • Work with management to formulate and execute a regional-specific plan to deliver against the plans.
  • Build sales campaigns to drive bookings and revenue.
  • Manage the analysis of regions and marketplaces by monitoring the market/competition, analyzing industry trends, company results and economic climate.

Sales Operations Management

  • Ensure accurate processing of all sales activities and information generated from those activities in the CRM and other systems.
  • Work with colleagues to leverage and share best practices to drive FIT and Groups business.
  • Develop business plans, sales strategies, budgets, and corresponding business cases for targeted marketing campaigns with trade partners.
  • Attend and participate in a variety of sales conferences, trade shows, marketplaces, familiarization tours, training and industry events as required to broaden product awareness, educate, and generate sales.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations and supporting documents for use in the solicitation and closing of business.
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback on an ongoing basis including but not limited to input on programs, strategies, tactical marketings, and sales initiatives; insightful revenue and business trend forecasting; general market conditions and competitive activity within assigned channels or accounts.
  • Analyze competitors and sources of competitive advantage to identify and target prospects and strategies to increase market share.

Relationship Management

  • Maintain positive and constructive relationships with other Managers, employees, customers, and a variety of suppliers and industry partners.
  • Ensure complete and on-going knowledge of the Company’s policies, procedures, and products.
  • Maintain positive and constructive cross-departmental relationships and communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the relevant expectations of the position.
  • Ensure clients keep Rocky Mountaineer top of mind in their sales and marketing efforts.
  • Initiate, build, and maintain long-term relationships with clients.

Qualifications

Education/ Certification/ Licenses

  • Post-Secondary education and experience in the Travel/Tourism industry (a four-year degree is preferred)

Experience

  • Prior sales or business development experience preferred.
  • Experience in relationship building through combination of in person, over the phone, and digital interactions.
  • Proven track record of success in achieving goals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Salesforce, Concur, and other systems.

Skills

  • Relationship builder with the ability to influence.
  • Strong presentation and training skills, both in person and via webinars.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Fluency in French or German is preferred.
  • Broad general business knowledge with excellent business judgment and decision-making skills
  • Professional and polished.
  • Skilled at tailoring and targeting communication to both internal and external audiences.

Working Conditions

  • Location: UK
  • Dedicated home office environment for private work conversations and secure storage of work documents.

  • A valid driver’s license and use of a reliable personal vehicle.

Compensation

  • The base salary offered for this role is £35,000 - £40,000 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
  • Eligible for Armstrong Collective’s Bonus Program.
