The Sales Specialist provides proactive commercial and operational support to Enterprise Client Executives (ECEs) and Area Vice Presidents (AVPs), helping deliver a customer-centric and consistent experience across the sales lifecycle. This role serves as a key coordinator between customers, sales leadership, and internal teams, ensuring accurate communication, timely follow-through, and effective resolution of issues. The Sales Specialist is an accountable, collaborative, and agile partner who supports account growth, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within a technology-focused organization serving the Utilities & Energy sector.

Duties & Responsibilities

Sales and Account Support

  • Partner with ECEs and AVPs to coordinate day-to-day activities for assigned customer accounts and support strategic account objectives.

  • Prepare and coordinate customer quotations, contract documentation, commercial requests, and sales campaigns.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support purchase order reviews, pricing validation, product setup activities, and required approvals.

  • Maintain visibility into customer commitments, open actions, and commercial priorities while proactively identifying and escalating risks.

  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through authentic, professional, and responsive communication.

Order, Forecast, and Revenue Coordination

  • Work closely with Sales Operations, Planning, Order Management, Finance, and other business partners to maintain accurate forecasts, bookings, order status, and expected delivery schedules.

  • Monitor purchase orders, pricing, conversion metrics, and revenue-related risks to support business performance.

  • Coordinate the resolution of delayed, incomplete, or at-risk orders by engaging appropriate stakeholders and ensuring accountability through completion.

  • Prepare forecasts, dashboards, reports, and analyses that support informed decision-making and operational visibility.

  • Leverage analytical insights to help anticipate customer needs and business opportunities.

Customer Issue and RMA Coordination

  • Serve as a central point of coordination for customer returns, RMAs, product performance concerns, and service-related escalations.

  • Gather relevant customer and product information and route requests to the appropriate functional teams.

  • Track actions, commitments, and target dates while providing consistent updates to customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Coordinate product returns, repairs, or replacements to help ensure a positive customer experience.

  • Keep ECEs informed of customer concerns, resolution plans, and escalation activities to support alignment across account teams.

Quality Issue Coordination

  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other technical teams to coordinate customer-reported quality concerns.

  • Collect information necessary to support investigations and customer communications.

  • Monitor progress on root cause analysis, containment activities, and corrective actions led by responsible teams.

  • Help ensure customer responses are timely, accurate, and aligned with organizational standards.

  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by sharing trends and opportunities for enhanced customer outcomes.

CRM, Reporting, Marketing, and Communications

  • Maintain accurate customer, account, opportunity, and forecasting information within Salesforce and other business systems.

  • Support marketing campaigns, industry conferences, trade events, customer meetings, and sales initiatives.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Inside Sales teams on lead generation and campaign execution activities.

  • Facilitate effective communication among customers, sales leadership, and internal stakeholders across multiple functions.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to system enhancements, workflow optimization, and service excellence initiatives.

  • Champion data integrity, process discipline, and transparency in all assigned activities.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Approximately 2 to 5 years of experience in sales support, sales operations, account coordination, customer service, order management, manufacturing support, or a related role.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer-centric service and relationship management.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including experience preparing reports and interpreting commercial or operational data.

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.

  • Demonstrated accountability, adaptability, and sound judgment when managing competing priorities and business challenges.

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative work environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience supporting process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, or service optimization projects.

  • Experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform.

  • Experience creating dashboards and business insights using reporting or business intelligence tools such as Power BI.

  • Background in utilities, telecommunications, energy technology, manufacturing, or related industries.

  • Familiarity with sales forecasting, order management, revenue planning, customer returns, and quality-management processes.

  • Experience working in a technology-driven environment focused on innovation, operational excellence, and customer success.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within geographically dispersed teams and cross-functional organizations.

Physical Demands: This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.

Travel: Travel may be required for customer meetings, internal meetings, conferences, and operational support activities (up to 15%).

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience and may vary by location. The base salary is $75,000 - $179,000 annually.
