Job Description

The Sherwin-Williams Industrial Wood team in Türkiye is looking for a motivated and driven Sales Representative who will drive sales through relationships with direct customers and through distribution channels.

The Sales Representative is responsible for growing our market share by identifying and selling to prospective customers/target accounts. Their role includes:

  • Travel to existing customers, handle daily business and provide technical service and consultancy to them.

  • Searching for and creating new business opportunities in accordance with business needs, possibilities and capacity.
  • Collecting reliable customer/territory information and estimating individual customer potential.
  • Conducting competitive product testing and comparisons to Sherwin-Williams and identifying current competitors’ strengths and weaknesses and Sherwin-William’s competitive advantage.
  • Developing a territory market development plan and obtaining approval.
  • Developing a strategy to sell to target customers and identifying items or product categories that require specific attention in support of this strategy.
  • Developing a weekly selling plan and conducting sales calls accordingly, occasionally in conjunction with the Sales Manager.
  • Determining where the customer is in the overall selling process and what steps are necessary to accelerate the process.
  • Conducting product demos to support the selling process.
  • Accessing product/technical information to support customers’ application requirements.
  • Completing required call and expense reports on a timely basis.
  • Identifying products and quantities that must be carried in inventory to support customer needs and communicating this to the servicing facility.
  • Identifying potential problems and working with the Sales Manager to resolve.
  • Handling customer complaints within the lines of authority and managing the process to resolution.
  • Assisting the Sales Manager / Director in the resolution of product supply problems.
  • Positively representing and promoting our company, materials, solutions, service and other business benefits.
  • Following and implementing all applicable organisational and local legislation.
  • Planning his/her work effectively with respect of time and stated targets.
  • Following up continually on personal progress and improvement.
  • Creating and using proper market knowledge.

Formal Education Preferred: Higher level education in a related field.

Knowledge & Experience: 5+ yearsSales experience in the same or similar industry; Commercial and industry knowledge essential.

Technical/Skill Requirements: Good computer skills; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work with all levels of internal and external contacts; Ability to interface effectively with sales, technical and manufacturing management.

Travel Requirements (time spent away from home or other typical office location): +-75%

A good understanding of Business English is preferable.
