Job Description

HealthPartners is hiring a Sales Representative Medicare & Individual Sales. This position is accountable for the direct-to-consumer sales of HealthPartners Medicare, Individual & Family and Dental health plans. Consult with prospects on their health insurance need, match the prospect to correct coverages, products, and benefits and convert sales leads into members. Sales are generated through a combination of inbound and outbound phone interactions, digital channels, and face-to-face consultations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • Four-year college degree with an emphasis in business, marketing or managed health care.
    • 1-2 years of insurance sales experience.
    • Experience working in a call center service and/or sales environment.
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
    • Valid Minnesota Life and Health insurance license
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Consultative sales experience.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate skill level for Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience with sales account management systems and MS Office programs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
    • Two or more years of Medicare and/or Individual & Family health plan sales experience.
    • Previous Medicare certification such as AHIP Medicare Training
    • Experience working within the health insurance brokerage and consulting community.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Experience using Microsoft Teams.
    • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM or similar CRM system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • 75%
    • Answer inbound prospective member calls for Medicare and/or Individual & Family health plans.

    • Use consultative selling methods to determine eligibility and appropriate product/plan

    • Obtain prospective member enrollment or schedule follow up activity to close the sale.

  • 20%

    • Place follow up outbound calls to qualified prospects not yet enrolled

    • Make outbound calls to current HealthPartners members becoming eligible for Medicare in the upcoming months.

  • 5%

    • Provide secondary/overflow inbound phone support to external brokers/agents.
  • At all times

    • Meet and exceed specified sales goals for Medicare health plan new member sales

  • Meet established department call statistics standards.
  • Comply with all federal, state and organization sales and marketing policies and procedures.
  • Manage personal sales funnel from initial contact through the various stages of plan enrollment Document all sales activity appropriately in MS Dynamics CRM system.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health plan regulatory requirements and general industry knowledge.
  • Provides competitive feedback information to department leadership.
  • Take an active role in participating in department and company initiatives, including attending meetings and involvement in special projects and training.
  • Work as a team member supporting fellow sales representatives to cooperatively meet or exceed team goals and objectives.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of various internal and external software programs used by representatives.
