A Day in the Life

Do you want to be part of a winning team within a growing and dynamic business? Are you looking for an exciting challenge across the Medtronic Medical Surgical and Neuroscience portfolio? This might be the opportunity you were looking for!
We offer you a position where you will support and develop selected accounts in a sales territory covering hospitals around Cape Town, promoting Medical Surgical and Neuroscience solutions across complex procedures including but not limited to bariatric, colorectal, advanced energy, hysteroscopic, cerebral and end-organ perfusion and neuro procedures. This role requires a hands-on sales professional who is also able to provide procedure support when needed, ensuring customers receive consistent clinical, product, and workflow support across the territory. 2 headcounts will be available for this position.
This role reports directly to the Sales Manager. Regular travel is expected across the Cape Town hospital territory.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Translate business strategy into specific plans for the relevant portfolio/accounts/region.
  • Provide clinical consulting and/or case support as required.
  • Assess clinical stakeholder needs and present appropriate Medtronic products.
  • Promote and sell Medtronic products and services within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with clinical and economic decision makers.
  • Responsible for generating and pursuing leads, assessing needs and providing product and services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronic's products and services.
  • Partner with Technical Consultants to promote education of the company's products and/or services.
  • Responsible to conduct business reviews with customers to ensure the contracts/partnerships are fulfilled as per agreements.
  • Inventory management in allocated accounts as per SOP.
  • Ensure compliance with internal training (Cornerstone), use of Customer Relations Management Tools (CRM) example SFDC.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Cerebral & SpO2 Monitoring sales with a proven track record
  • Relevant product and procedure knowledge
  • Experience with relevant software applications (SFDC, PowerPoint; Excel)
