Accountability and Scope
The Sales Representative I is accountable for pursuing knowledge and understanding of Wesco’s products, sales philosophy and practice, with the goal of becoming a primary point of contact for customer inside sales coverage; and applying sales initiatives, policies and programs in support of business plans and strategic objectives, necessary to meet annual department and individual goals. The Sale Representative I will be responsible for providing support and assistance to outside sales, internal sales, operations, purchasing, quality and finance personnel, as requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Learn, understand and incorporate Wesco philosophy, value and vision, and Sale initiatives and policies in all behavior, practice and decisions
· Gain a good understanding of Wesco's quality standards, product lines, pricing and delivery schedules
· Work directly with customers on a regular basis, providing timely, appropriate and accurate responses to inquiries and requests
· Maintain and develop new and existing Wesco customers through professional and appropriate sales methods
· Source products when necessary based on Wesco’s best practices
· Ensure adherence to customer approvals and quality requirements
· Understand and follow export compliance requirements
· Understand and utilize the internal data and information systems and Wesco Intranet to effectively perform job functions
· Provide support and assistance to Sales Branches, Internal Sales, Corporate Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Quality, Finance and other departments as needed to resolve sales related efforts
· Recognize when negotiation may produce sales opportunities and begin to develop effective negotiation skills
· Participate in and practice continuous improvement and/or process improvement efforts
· Receive supervision, guidance and training for Wesco systems, products, industry, vendors and operations
· Attend regular and impromptu sales meetings and company-sponsored training and events, as required
· Travel may be required

Liaison Communicate frequently with branch supervisor, Internal Sales, Corporate Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Quality, Finance and other departments as needed; must have ability to communicate clearly and in a concise manner with internal and external customers and vendors, as required
· Direction/Received Direct supervision and detailed instructions will be given for routine work during the training period; and additional instructions given for new activities or special assignments; must have the ability and willingness to accept and successfully fulfill any related assignments designated by the Branch Supervisor or Managers

Decision Quality Approved discretion and decision making may be authorized to perform standard procedures and processes; specific decisions may need to be made by supervisory or management levels

Processes Ability to learn, comprehend technical customer requirements; and to communicate sales information pertaining to Wesco products, including accurate technical knowledge of our quality standards and services, sales initiatives, policies, procedures and philosophy; ability to gain and sustain good customer relationships; as well as gain knowledge and skills to introduce and motivate new customers to purchase Wesco quality products and services; and/or the ability to recognize when sales and negotiation opportunities are presented, and to act quickly and efficiently to assist in fulfilling the customer needs
· Mathematical Skills Ability to perform basic math functions and proficient use of a calculator
· Problem Solving Ability to solve basic problems following established policies and procedures; more difficult problems or challenges should be escalated to a senior member of the team or Supervisor for additional direction

· Systems/Resources Ability to learn to utilize the internal systems and resources as a critical aspect of accessing necessary information and communicating; systems include Wesco U.S. Intra-net system, database system, email, and the use of printers, copiers, and in-house telephone systems; as well as applicable Sales data and information systems to provide internal support services to inter-working departments and teams, as requested
· Written and Oral Skills Ability to read, write, speak and relay information accurately and concisely, in a variety of communication settings, in English

· Education Educated to National Vocational Level (NVQ) or equivalent (EU) High School Diploma or GED College degree within the Marketing or Supply Chain fields, is preferred · Experience
