The Opportunity

We’re looking for a commercially driven Sales Representative to help grow Etihad Airways’ presence and performance in the Sri Lankan market.

Based in Colombo, you’ll manage and develop relationships with key trade and commercial accounts, identify new revenue opportunities and execute sales activities that contribute directly to our commercial targets.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being in the market, building relationships and creating opportunities. You’ll need the energy to pursue new business, the commercial judgement to understand where the opportunities are, and a strong focus on delivering results.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage and grow relationships with existing and prospective accounts, positioning Etihad as a trusted commercial partner.
• Develop and execute sales activities to achieve revenue targets, identifying and converting new business opportunities using customer, market and sales insights.
• Promote Etihad’s products, network and commercial propositions, while negotiating and managing commercial agreements within established guidelines.
• Monitor competitor and market activity to identify opportunities to grow Etihad’s market share and commercial performance.
• Represent Etihad in customer meetings and industry events, collaborating with regional and Head Office stakeholders to deliver commercial objectives.
• Support local commercial projects, new market opportunities and the development of newer members of the sales team when required.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a proactive, commercially minded sales professional who is motivated by growth, relationships and results

You’ll bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant sales or commercial experience
• A demonstrated track record of delivering against sales, revenue or commercial targets.
• Strong account management and business development capability, including identifying and converting new opportunities.
• Confidence building relationships, influencing customers and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data and market insights to guide sales activity.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to manage multiple customers, priorities and internal stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.
• The confidence to represent Etihad externally with customers and commercial partners.
• The ability to support, coach and share knowledge with colleagues when required.
• A proactive, energetic approach with the drive and resilience to succeed in a target-focused sales environment.

Airline, aviation or travel industry experience would be advantageous, but strong commercial performance and transferable B2B sales experience are equally valued.

Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for this position will involve the following steps:

1. All applications will be reviewed by a human-member of our Recruitment Team
2. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to completed a recorded video interview via our third-party platform HireVue. This interview will allow you to record your responses to a range of questions related to the position and will allow you to demonstrate your knowledge and experience in a way that just your CV alone would not be able to. It also ensures fairness for you and all candidates, as all of our shortlisted candidates are asked the same questions and assessed on their responses.
3. After a review of completed video interviews, shortlisted candidates will be invited to an initial technical interview with the hiring manager. This interview may include the completion of a job-related case study and presentation to the hiring team.
4. Finalists may be invited to a follow up meeting with additional members of the hiring team.
5. All candidates will be notified as to the status of their application as soon as is possible.
