Job Description

Our client is a leading retail company in Malta, offering a wide range of products and solutions for the home. They are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Sales Representative to join their team and contribute to an excellent shopping experience while supporting sales performance within an assigned section.

The Sales Representative will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, understanding customer needs, recommending suitable products, and contributing to the achievement of sales targets. The role also involves maintaining the assigned section, managing stock, ensuring high merchandising standards, and supporting the smooth operation of the store.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service and Sales

• Provide a professional, friendly, and proactive customer experience.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable products.
• Offer alternative products and recommend complementary items where appropriate.
• Build positive relationships with customers and encourage repeat business.
• Contribute towards achieving store sales targets and key performance indicators.

Section Management and Merchandising

• Take responsibility for an assigned section within the store.
• Ensure shelves are clean, organised, fully stocked, and presented according to company standards.
• Monitor stock levels and replenish shelves when required.
• Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and product displays.
• Ensure the assigned section remains safe, tidy, and customer-ready at all times.

Stock Management

• Raise purchase orders according to stock requirements and management approval.
• Coordinate with suppliers when required to support timely stock replenishment.
• Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving products and provide feedback to management.
• Bring stock from the warehouse and ensure proper stock rotation where applicable.

Commercial Awareness

• Identify opportunities for new products based on customer demand and market trends.
• Provide feedback on products based on sales performance and customer preferences.
• Submit reports and updates regarding section performance when requested by Management.

Teamwork and Flexibility

• Support Cashiers and Customer Care Representatives during busy periods when required.
• Assist other departments to support the smooth operation of the store.
• Participate in training sessions to develop product knowledge and sales skills.
• Maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with colleagues across all departments.

Requirements

• Previous experience in sales, retail, customer service, or a similar role.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent sales and negotiation abilities.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to achieving results.
• Good organisational and stock management skills.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for an assigned section.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, according to operational requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and stand for extended periods.
