General Summary:

Self-motivated professional sales communicator with a passion for engaging decision-makers to attract new customers to DART's portfolio of business and organization-oriented Transportation services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Targets and engages with prospective business, educational and organizational customers. Includes personal outreach, business networking, inbound marketing leads, industry and community organizations.
  • Employs customer-oriented sales strategy to reveal needs and opportunities, offers solutions and obtain commitment for use of DART services.
  • Conducts research and prospecting activities individually and in team settings.
  • Conducts group and individual presentations to educate and convert customers.
  • Actively recruits new riders from within currently participating organizations.
  • Participates in sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Trains company level transportation coordinators of client organizations in administration and use of DART services.
  • Performs administrative functions related to client needs and internal DART processes.
  • Works cross-functionally with Marketing and other departments to leverage DART capabilities to achieve goals.
  • Ensures attainment of monthly, quarterly and annual budget goals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Business Administration, Marketing, Sales or related field.
  • Two (2) years of sales and business development experience in a fast-paced, high growth, rapidly-changing culture and environment.
  • A proven track record of delivering strong and consistent growth and exceeding targets.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office software (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to learn CRM management software programs.
  • Ability to be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services. Acts with customers in mind. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.
  • Ability to use his/her time effectively and efficiently. Values time. Concentrates his/her efforts on the more important priorities. Gets more done in less time than others. Can attend to a broader range of activities.
  • Ability to be action oriented and full of energy for the things he/she sees as challenging. Not fearful of acting with a minimum of planning. Seizes more opportunities than others.
  • Ability to be able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles. Can get messages across that have the desired effect.
  • Ability to pick up on technical things quickly. Can learn new skills and knowledge. Is good at learning new industry, company, product, or technical knowledge. Does well in technical courses and seminars.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
