Founded in 1978, Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. (Formosa Plastics) is a growing, vertically-integrated supplier of plastic resins and petrochemicals. Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
SALES REPRESENTATIVE I
The sales-representative serves is a U.S based commercial role responsible for driving revenue growth and serving as a primary liaison between global customers and Formosa Global Solutions teams. The position supports pricing coordination, order execution, production alignment, and customer fulfillment across international markets. Due to the role’s ongoing interaction with internal teams and customers for whom Mandarin is the primary business language, professional proficiency in Mandarin is highly preferred to ensure accurate communication, timely decision-making, and effective execution of commercial strategies.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
• Identify, prospect, and develop new customers across carbon fiber, steel, and petrochemicals
• Manage the full sales cycle: outreach, qualification, pricing, negotiation, and closing
• Build relationships with distributors, service centers, and OEMs globally including travel to the customer
• Support market expansion into the U.S., LATAM, GCC, Africa, and other regions
• Act as a commercial liaison between U.S.-based operations, global customers, and internal teams located internationally, including Taiwan.
• Support global account management by translating customer requirements and commercial terms between English and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years of experience in sales or business development
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience in steel, carbon fiber, composites, petrochemicals, plastics, or other industrial materials is a strong plus
• Proficient in excel and strong organizational skills to keep track of customer outreach and information
• Professional working proficiency in Mandarin (written and spoken) is strongly recommended to perform essential job duties involving communication with global customers and internal teams where Mandarin is the primary business language. All candidates will be considered.
