Job Description

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Sales Planner to join the AMP Sports Ad Sales team. This role is responsible for supporting the pre-sale and mid-flight operational process — developing accurate, strategic media plans and ensuring smooth campaign delivery across Digital, Linear, Social, and Audio platforms.

The Sales Planner works closely with Sales, Pricing & Planning, Inventory, and Ad Operations to ensure proposals, billing, and reporting are precise and aligned with business goals. This position is focused on sales and planning operations, not client relationship management.

Core Responsibilities

Pre-Sale Strategy & Proposal Development

  • Develop and refine multi-platform media plans aligned with sales strategy, pricing guidance, and client goals.
  • Partner with the Sales team to translate RFPs into actionable, competitive proposals.
  • Collaborate with Pricing & Planning to maintain rate integrity and ensure margin objectives are met.

Inventory & Deal Management

  • Coordinate with Inventory Management to confirm availability and optimize utilization across campaigns.
  • Maintain deal accuracy from proposal through IO submission, ensuring plans reflect current inventory and approved pricing.
  • Track sold inventory and forecast revenue pacing for assigned accounts.

Campaign Reporting & Billing Accuracy

  • Own the preparation and accuracy of campaign performance reports, surfacing results and pacing updates to the Account Manager for client delivery.
  • Partner with Campaign Management and Finance to reconcile billing, delivery, and revenue discrepancies.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of booked revenue, flight dates, and campaign changes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide proactive visibility into any pacing or delivery concerns that may impact revenue or performance to Account Management and Sales.

Sales Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Process and review Insertion Orders (IOs) to ensure accuracy and alignment with approved plans.
  • Collaborate with Campaign Management and Traffick teams to support smooth campaign setup and execution readiness.
  • Support Operation Leadership in forecasting, reporting, and pipeline management.

Process Optimization & Collaboration

  • Maintain and improve internal planning documents, templates, and pricing matrices.
  • Identify workflow efficiencies to improve speed and accuracy across Sales Planning and Campaign Management.
  • Work with Marketing and Research to incorporate sponsorship opportunities or insights into proposals when applicable.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in media planning, sales operations, or pricing & inventory within a publisher, network, or agency.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ad sales systems such as Freewheel, Operative One/AOS, WideOrbit, Broadway, Prisma, or Google Ad Manager.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a commitment to operational excellence.

The base salary compensation for this role is $66,500. In addition, this role may be eligible for a discretionary quarterly bonus, which would be awarded based on individual and company performance. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
