Job Description

Operations Manager - Sales

Lakewood, NJ – On-site (Hybrid may be considered)
$120,000–$150,000 + Performance Bonus

This role is for someone who genuinely enjoys making good processes great. You'll own the operational backbone of the sales organization, ensuring existing workflows are maintained, refined, and consistently executed. Rather than reinventing the wheel, you'll focus on continuous improvement—finding smarter, more efficient ways to operate while leading a team that keeps everything moving. If you naturally spot inefficiencies, enjoy fine-tuning systems, and get satisfaction from creating consistency and order, you'll thrive in this role. Success requires exceptional ownership, strong execution, systems thinking, process optimization, and the ability to turn continuous improvement into measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day operations that support the sales organization and ensure workflows run efficiently from start to finish.
  • Maintain, monitor, and continuously improve existing sales processes to increase efficiency, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical solutions that enhance execution without disrupting the business.
  • Ensure established procedures are consistently followed while identifying opportunities to optimize and streamline workflows.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of three direct reports, fostering accountability and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Warehouse, and Accounting to ensure seamless communication and execution across departments.
  • Monitor operational performance and proactively resolve issues before they impact customers or internal teams.
  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure processes remain current, scalable, and effective.
  • Leverage systems, automation, and AI tools to improve productivity, reduce manual work, and enhance operational visibility.
  • Track key operational metrics and drive continuous improvements that support business growth.

Qualifications

  • Experience in sales operations, operations management, project management, or another process-driven environment.
  • Proven ability to own, maintain, and improve operational workflows.
  • Strong understanding of systems, technology, and AI tools.
  • Experience leading and developing a team while driving accountability and execution.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, initiative, and follow-through.
  • Experience in wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, e-commerce, or another operationally intensive industry is a plus, but not required.
