The Sales Operations Coordinator is responsible for enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the sales organization through data-driven insights, operational coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. This role supports sales performance, inventory optimization, and customer satisfaction by bridging Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and Operations.

A core focus of this role includes proactively identifying and managing slow-moving and obsolete inventory (SLOBS), improving inventory health, and driving structured processes to maximize recovery value while minimizing risk.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively detect inventory risks early in the lifecycle to maximize recovery value

  • Develop and execute inventory reduction strategies with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain

  • Coordinate promotions, liquidation strategies, and alternative channel strategies to drive sell-through

  • Analyze inventory trends and recommend actions to improve inventory health and working capital performance

  • Track and report on inventory reduction initiatives and outcomes

  • Classify inventory based on key risk attributes such as lifecycle status, demand variability, packaging changes, and shelf-life constraints

Sales Operations & Customer Coordination

  • Support day-to-day sales operations, including order management, reporting, forecasting, and process coordination

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to track sales performance, customer trends, and operational metrics

  • Analyze sales and performance data to identify revenue opportunities and operational efficiencies

  • Assist with forecasting, demand planning, and pipeline tracking activities

  • Serve as a key coordination point across Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Operations

  • Monitor order status, backorders, allocation issues, and supply constraints; proactively communicate risks and resolution plans

  • Support replenishment planning and execution for key customer accounts

  • Assist in resolving customer issues related to inventory availability, shipment delays, and fulfillment gaps

  • Partner cross-functionally to enhance customer experience and improve operational responsiveness

Customer & Business Enablement

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Sales and Customer teams by translating analytics into actionable insights

  • Lead cross-functional problem solving with Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain

  • Identify opportunities to convert at-risk inventory into commercial actions (e.g., promotions, re-routing, alternative channels)

  • Support customer-specific strategies to improve sell-through and reduce exposure

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify root causes of performance gaps and drive solutions

Decision Frameworks & Governance

  • Design and implement structured decision frameworks for managing inventory risk

  • Define decision rights, escalation paths, and trade-off guidelines balancing financial recovery and customer impact

  • Establish governance forums to review inventory exposure and track actions

  • Develop decision trees for inventory disposition (e.g., discount, hold, reallocate, write-off)

  • Implement clear RACI models across stakeholders

Analytics, Reporting & Insights

  • Build automated dashboards and scalable reporting tools using BI platforms

  • Monitor trends, risks, and anomalies across sales, inventory, and operational performance

  • Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations and customer-specific plans

  • Define and track KPIs such as:

    • Early risk identification rate

    • Sell-through improvement

    • Inventory health metrics

Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement
