As the Travel Trade Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining excellent relationships with high profile international destination clients and travel trade partners. You will play a crucial role in the account management of multiple clients and ensure we are achieving and exceeding the delivery of the planned scope of work in the UK & Irish markets.

The ideal candidate would be someone confident in multi-tasking, communicating with various audiences and working at a fast pace.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with destination clients.
  • Build relationships with travel trade partners from product managers to travel agents and airlines.
  • Manage the day-to-day activity of the account and ensure we are delivering on KPIs.
  • Monitor market trends and keep abreast of travel trade intelligence.
  • Take the initiative to come up with new ideas and present these to the client.
  • Work with travel trade partners closely to develop their product offering.
  • Conduct sales calls, training webinars, in-person trainings and organise client events.
  • Negotiate and analyse co-op proposals and then manage these through to post-campaign reporting.
  • Represent destination clients at industry events.
  • Organise and host FAM trips in-destination.

Core skills and experience required:  

  • Proven experience (minimum 3-4 years) in a similar role(s) within the tourism industry.
  • Other experience such as tour operators, airlines or travel agencies would be useful.
  • Experience managing multiple projects/clients at one time.
  • Strong written skills and communication skills.
  • Experience hosting events or FAM trips.
  • Strong network within the UK and Ireland travel trade industry.
  • Experience in managing budgets. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Some domestic and international travel will be required as well as evening events.

It would be an advantage if you have:

  • Agency or tourism board experience.
  • A good understanding of the UK & Irish outbound market.
  • Experience working with North American DMOs.
