Services Sales Manager in Defense and Homeland Security Market

Main office: Tubize

In Tubize, you will join more than 350 colleagues recognized by domestic and international partners for expertise on products such as Radio Frequency (RF) Products, Weapon Systems, Tactical Communications, Vehicle Integration, Command and Control systems, Cyber Security, Electronic Warfare, Data encryption Solutions, … and many others.

Your mission

The Sales Manager develops commercial opportunities in the large domain of Defense where-in he/she has been assigned to a specific segment. The main targeted markets are domestic (Belgian and Luxemburgish), while participation to international opportunities happens regularly. Finally, he/she contributes to the achievement of the strategic objectives of the company.

The company offers a broad portfolio of products, solutions and services in the Defense, Homeland Security, Aeronautics and Critical/Industrial operator’s sectors, and operates in different markets: domestic, export and intra-Group markets.

Your responsibilities as Services Sales Manager within your segment:

  • Promote the company’s products/solutions/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
  • Contribute to and execute strategic business development plans to increase sales of services
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients including new contacts within large existing clients
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to clients
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships, actively develop your personal network within clients’ ecosystem and industry partners
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Deploy a comprehensive and integrated approach: value selling on systems, services, concepts and business model
  • Capture information on aspects such as marketing and sales to share in the Unit, develop awareness of customer environment and competition
  • Report on opportunities follow-up and sales results (monthly, quarterly and annually)
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, service delivery) to align on client needs and service offerings
  • Present customer with creative services approach including in-service support, managed services, professional services, Performance Based Logistics (PBL), …
  • Contribute to the development of a comprehensive services catalogue
  • Negotiate contracts and close sales/agreements to maximize profits
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.

We are looking forward to

  • Engineering and Business School Master Degree, MBA or equivalent
  • Fluent in French, Dutch and English (spoken and written)
  • Strong sales experience (+10 years) with proven track record in complex solution sales and/or services sales (segment depending)
  • Affinity with Defense and Security industry
  • Knowledgeable and existing contacts in one or several of Thales’ key sectors like Defense, Homeland Security or Critical Infrastructure operators is a strong plus
  • Mastering sales and marketing techniques (Consultative selling, Value Proposition, Pricing power etc)
  • Customer orientation and results driven
  • Team engagement and capacity for mobilization
  • Creative mind along the complete sales cycle (from opportunity development to negotiation)
  • Autonomy, sense of initiative
  • Resilient to complexity and long multi-year sales cycles
  • Versatility and flexibility to adapt
