About the Role
We are looking for a commercially driven Sales Manager based in India to drive enterprise business development and commercial growth for our digital Ocean Freight solutions in the APAC region.
This role focuses on digital solutions for ocean freight and requires strong domain expertise across carriers, freight forwarders, and NVOCC operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging customers on digital transformation initiatives spanning rate management, quoting, eBooking, procurement workflows, and market intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Sales & Business Development
- Drive revenue growth for Ocean carrier segment across assigned markets and customer segments
- Identify, prospect, and acquire mid-market and enterprise freight forwarders, NVOCCs, carriers, logistics providers, and shippers
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline while consistently achieving quarterly targets
- Identify new market opportunities and support regional growth initiatives
Solution Selling
- Lead consultative sales engagements focused on ocean freight digitalization, including rate management, quoting, eBooking, procurement workflows, and market intelligence
- Understand customer pain points across FCL and LCL workflows and position solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
- Deliver tailored presentations, product demos, proposals, and commercial negotiations through contract closure
Account Management & Expansion
- Build trusted long-term customer relationships through a consultative, partnership-led approach
- Partner with internal teams to support onboarding, product adoption, and account expansion
- Collaborate with Global Key Account Management teams to grow strategic accounts
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Marketing, Operations, Legal, and Account Management teams to deliver customer value
- Provide market insights and customer feedback to Product teams
- Ensure CRM systems are updated accurately and in a timely manner.
Requirements
Basic Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in ocean freight, freight forwarding, or digital logistics solutions industries.
- Minimum 8+ years of mid-to-enterprise sales experience in ocean freight SaaS, logistics technology, or digital freight solutions.
- Strong ocean freight background with solid understanding of:Ocean carriers,Freight forwarders and NVOCCs,FCL and LCL operational workflows, Ocean freight procurement and pricing structures
- Proven experience in enterprise and mid-market B2B solution selling
- Strong understanding of ocean freight pricing structures, procurement workflows, carrier contracts, local charges, and commercial processes
- Proven track record in achieving SaaS and/or digital freight sales targets
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience using CRM and reporting tools such as Salesforce, Zoho etc
- Ability to manage complex, long-cycle mid-to-enterprise sales processes
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills required
- Ability to communicate clearly in a global, cross-cultural business environment
- Additional Asian languages, including Mandarin, are a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships within the freight forwarding and ocean carrier ecosystem in India and APAC are highly desirable.
- Experience selling ocean freight SaaS or digital procurement solutions
- Experience working with mid-to-enterprise freight forwarders, carriers, or logistics providers across multiple countries
- Familiarity with carrier contract structures, local charges, and ocean pricing mechanisms
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related fields
