Purpose of the Job :

  • Front end sales for Ocean and Engine Power market.
  • Direct Sales responsibility – After Sales market for India, Bangladesh, Nepal & Sri Lanka region.
  • Support in formulating the right strategy for Ocean After Sales for the region
  • Drive the Ocean After Sales business
  • Support with order execution
  • Develop and profitably grow the Ocean business in line with the Business Unit Strategy.
  • Business Units: Marine Solutions, including BWTS.
  • Customers served: All Ocean customers (Marine & Engine Power)

Performance Dimensions and Key Responsibilities :

Order Booking -

  • Order Intake for the business unit
  • Deliver profitable growth for After Sales & Service
  • Achieve specific growth plans and ensure that business targets are met.
  • Building long term business relationships with key accounts (existing/potential) to enhance the revenue potential for the segment.
  • Collaborates with the Ocean Team (CS and AS) and service coordinators to exceed customer expectations and improve customer satisfaction
  • Business forecasting, effective use of CRM tools.

Invoicing -

  • Support with invoicing targets, working closely with CSS team, factories, distribution centers and customers.
  • Network with cross functional teams like Factory, PDL, Engineering & Supply, Customer Sales Support and Product Management for timely delivery of offerings.

Ship Owner Sales (SOS) -

  • Part of the SOS team, ensuring AL products are installed on all vessels built for Indian Owners.

AR / Collections -

  • Support the organization with strong financials and profitable growth.

Special physical, psychological and work life balance demands of the role :

  • Market is very dynamic and has strong demands from customers for faster solutions and deliveries. It requires the manager to be alert to the market conditions and closely coordinate with all stake holders.
  • Travelling is essential, as the manager is responsible for covering a wide geographical region
  • Maximum time needs to be spent at the customer’s end.
  • Should be able to withstand work pressures.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Behaviours Required for the Job) :

Qualifications/ Certifications - BE Mech / Marine

Knowledge, Technical Skills and Nature of Experience - Having approximately 4-9 years sales & marketing experience.

Should have good knowledge of ship’s engine rooms, diesel power plants and basic working knowledge of Alfa Laval products that are used on board vessels.

Shipboard experience is preferred, though not essential.
