LaMarco Systems is seeking a driven, results-oriented Sales Manager to lead sales efforts at our Northbrook, IL branch. This role combines hands-on selling with sales leadership, requiring a strong hunter mindset—building relationships, developing pipeline, and expanding LaMarco's presence across commercial customers throughout the Chicagoland market. You will focus on facilities leaders, property managers, and business owners across commercial real estate, healthcare, education, logistics, and industrial environments.

This customer-facing position is responsible for generating new opportunities, closing business, and expanding accounts across the full LaMarco service offering, while also leading and developing the branch sales function. In addition to driving individual sales performance, the Sales Manager is responsible for coaching sales staff, setting local sales strategy, managing pipeline, and supporting the team in meeting branch revenue targets. This role also serves as a key integrator for the branch—aligning sales, operations, and service functions to ensure sold work is executed smoothly, and selling consultatively across LaMarco's full range of security and fire protection systems rather than single-product solutions. Strong communication, operational coordination, and follow-through are essential to support renewals, maintain customer satisfaction, and uncover new revenue opportunities.

This position operates primarily in the field throughout the Chicagoland area and works closely with service and operations teams to ensure successful onboarding and execution of sold agreements. When not in the field, this is an in-office role based at our Northbrook, IL branch.

**In addition to the base salary range listed, this position is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include commission or bonus components. Total compensation will include base salary plus incentives, depending on performance and final role alignment.**

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive proactive business development by building a local pipeline of target accounts, generating new opportunities, and securing qualified meetings with decision-makers.
  • Engage facilities leaders, property managers, and business owners across the Chicagoland market to expand LaMarco's footprint and win new business.
  • Lead, coach, and develop branch sales staff, providing guidance on prospecting, pipeline management, proposal development, and closing.
  • Set and execute local sales strategy aligned with branch revenue goals and company objectives.
  • Manage the branch sales pipeline, monitor sales activity, and hold the team accountable to defined targets and close rates.
  • Serve as a primary contact for key local accounts, building trust and long-term partnerships.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding scheduling, service progress, inspection findings, and next steps.
  • Proactively address client needs, questions, and urgent issues to ensure high satisfaction, retention, and continued account engagement.
  • Serve as the integration point between sales, operations, and service teams—ensuring alignment on priorities, accountability across functions, and smooth handoff and execution of sold work.
  • Coordinate inspections, deficiency walkthroughs, and corrective work with internal field operations teams and client site contacts.
  • Support multi-service coordination, including alarm, sprinkler, suppression, monitoring, repairs, and project needs as applicable.
  • Sell consultatively as a solutions integrator, designing and positioning multi-system solutions (access control, video, alarm, fire, and monitoring) that tie together multiple manufacturer platforms to meet customer needs.
  • Identify opportunities to expand LaMarco services within existing accounts and new client locations.
  • Support cross-sell and upsell initiatives aligned with customer needs and LaMarco capabilities.
  • Track and report sales performance, pipeline health, risks, and growth opportunities using CRM tools.
  • Prepare proposals, pricing, and contract structures aligned with customer needs.
  • Partner with technicians, dispatch teams, service managers, and operations leadership to ensure all work meets client expectations and code requirements.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance discussions, and disciplinary actions for sales staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience in commercial security, fire protection, life safety, building systems, low-voltage security, or facility services.
  • Prior sales leadership, team lead, or sales management experience, including coaching and performance management.
  • Demonstrated success building pipeline and closing business in a local or regional market.
  • Strong understanding of recurring revenue and service-based sales models.
  • Knowledge of manufacturer products within the Security and Fire Protection industry (e.g., Bosch, Brivo, Eagle Eye, Exacq, S2, Schlage Engage, Edwards EST, or similar platforms).
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across functions (sales, operations, service) to drive execution and accountability, with a consultative, solutions-oriented selling approach.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, Q360, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical and service-related information clearly.
  • Strong operational coordination, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
  • Highly organized with strong time-management and pipeline-management skills; able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across operations, service, and sales teams.
  • Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver's license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Eligibility to obtain a PERC card from the State of Illinois.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with deficiency management processes and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with service platforms (ServiceChannel, FM systems, etc.).
